Hey. Just seen your post. I know it’s a few years old, but a great help. My T4 is getting an occasional spike when idling from 750rpm to just under 1000rpm and then settles again. I’ve not plugged the van into a vagcom, but T4 forums have pointed to the coolant sensor as the fault, as it’s telling the engine it’s cold and gives it a little boost. Well, I’ll soon find out if its cures the odd random spike my engine has been getting. Thanks again 🤙

Where is this being fimed from? (top or underneeth car). I also have an AAB but the sensor i found only has 2 cables. Looking into the hood left side of the engine.

Hi Stefan, i filmed from underneeth car in right side near alternator. Good job subscribe and like.
@stefanchrin67153 ай бұрын
Thanks man :) If the sensor from underneeth is the temperature sensor do you have any idea what the sensor is from the top? It also measures in the cooling system on a pipe right next to the engine. Was just wandering. PS im sure it would help people if you show where you film from, from the verry beginning haha especialy for noobs like me

It worked for me thanks so much!! Does anyone know why there are 4 channels in the sensor? :)
@FXDavide2 ай бұрын
Hi stefan, two channel is a switch and two is a resistor to need for gauge temp indicator

Really,really thank you. I solved the problem. In my 1991 2.4 Ds AAB the temperature instrument now is alive again. Before I changed the one on the top, 2 pin, then

I can't see from the video. Is that just pull out ? Is it a bayonet?. My temp gauge is going yup while moving and stopping when stationary. Could this be the sensor?

Brilliant

So it only drains a small amount of coolant?
@FXDavide2 жыл бұрын
Hi Lord, only bubbles and small amount of coolant is no high pressure the pipes in this part of cirqiut. Put a like end subscribe.

Nice man but where it is located?

Thanks David. Do you need to change thermostat too with this sensor? My thermo needle isn;t working either.
@FXDavide7 жыл бұрын
No if is only sensor damaged, check the sensor whit jumper like to the minute (0:49-1:20) The needle does not work when: broken sensor broken thermostat fused transistor in the car dashboard
@pjstock1356 жыл бұрын
Hey FXDavid. yours has been the best instruction so far on trying to fix my non-working gauge. But I need more help. I "THINK" I found the same sensor as you are showing. BUT when I replaced the sensor completely ( my error. I should have first done your jumper test) the gauge still does not register accurately. After the engine is hot the needle only rises to the "C" position (this is the same result with the new and the old sensor.) when I do the "jump" test as you show in the video, the gauge does not register but I do hear a pump being activated. do i have the wrong sensor? I cannot find any more sensors.
