When you hade problems . was the engine hard to get started ? TAKES 3-4 sek to start running..

Did you replace the intercooler pipe after? I’ve bought 2 new sensors, and also noticed my intercooler pipe wasn’t sat right,,mine seems okay now though. I have noticed the wiring on the air intake map sensor has 3 pins but my sensor itself has 4pins, not sure why. I have done loads to try and get rid of this underboost I’m hoping the sensors work as I’ve only just bought the van and haven’t been able to drive it properly lol. It goes good somedays then go back into limp. I’ve done vacuum tests, changed bits and pieces, & still nothing. I did change the one map sensor for a second have one I had but not sure that’s faulty too lol

How did you get on? From what I remember is there is a 3 or 4 pin sensor so just make sure you get the right one. Do you have any codes come up?

@@alfjobharris3078 I read online one of the pins (the missing one) is for air temp and as the maf sensor reads the air temp it doesn’t need another one..if that’s true I don’t know. But I no longer have limp mode as I swapped out the rocker cover as it was cracked and leaking vacuum, so van drives fine now ☺️

Those clips holding the boost pipes are really bad design....had same issue with hissing sound....keeps popping out.... eventually changed out the worn out clips.... hissing gone

Y'know what, these VW Transporters have one helluva lot of problems, why do they have such a fan base? I skipped through this, didn't find if you fixed it or not.
