VW T5 T6 - Installing Skyline Aurora SWB Pop Top Roof from Skyline Roofs

The amount of screws that go straight into the bodywork with no rust treatment is shocking and put me off getting one fitted , I’m also very shocked theres no weather seal anywhere apart for the locking mechanism, I would love to take a pop top off a van after a few years and examine how much rust damage there is

There looks to be a lot of drilled and untreated screw holes in the roof.

That angle grinder possibly caused lots of spark damage, should be using a blade really 😏

I do not like all that grinding destroying the windscreen and rear door etc. But a good video.

I called skyline to buy a roof..but would not sale me one because I need to go for a days course at £200.. to learn how to fit one.. well I've just watch this video & saved £200..

Well you haven't because they still wont sell you one until you have the cert from their course to fit it...

@@tobywan12 a cert to be a cowboy.. they dont cover the camper up when grinding & cutting.. also was told by someone who was on the course..that skyline again didn't cover the camper or any campers next to the one they was cutting..

@@stueypinnock8875 WOW really, thats pretty shite to be honest. You'd think from a "branded manufacturer" they would have the upmost in quality. They'll still charge you for that cert in order to sell you a roof though. Be intresting to see if the other brands such as Remio, Austops etc have the same installation methods. Deffo would expect more when paying £4000 for a roof
