I feel you. In PS4 if you are lvl 7 Maeve or lvl 666 it doesn't matter. If you don't practise often with her , you're gonna forget everything you knew and you are gonna have to start from scratch. Happened to me and now I won't even look at her during the selection cause she gives me nightmares everytime I look at her. Btw I'm lvl 37 and kinda regret maining her

She's most likely set her key bindings, my recommendation is to set your spray bind to either the left or right stick as they have no in game function

As someone who watched this video when it came out this helped so much. I changed my jump button to L1 and slowly overtime I got so much better. Anyone who watches this and is debating on the switch, definitely do it you will improve so much

Loadouts: In my opinion "Persistence" is a must have because it saved me so many times and is not locked on an ability. Every time i made a deck for SJ and RG i've got the exact same deck on them because my playstyle is pretty much the same on these Talents

I've been working on my Maeve controls set up tonight now that I want to get good with her (I play PS4). I found that putting nine lives on square made a lot of sense since I might accidently press x to jump sometimes and because Maeve has no reload so it's easy to conceptualise nine lives as the reload abilities button instead. So I can jump with L1 normally and if I hit x it's no biggie cause I'll jump as normal. Love the video. Just thought I'd mention my variation of the controls you mentioned. I learned a lot, thank you

Oh that’s interesting, and a good strategy. When I first changed my settings (nine lives on X) I accidentally used nine lives A LOT. And basically I just forced myself to not press X bc it punishes if I did. I’m glad it was helpful :)

Fun tip: Im pretty sure some of you guys know this, using primary attacks and looking somewhere fast enough causes your 2 daggers to be away from each other I mostly use this to pick off the 2 enemies that my team struggles with.

That great vid I play maeve a lot with CB and i go nimble or cronos it helps a lot Every one lvl cronos make the CD go down for 1sec or more that huge and it save me a lot And i agree life rip isn't much Reju only when u have a good healer and healing u or go kill 2 heal At the end i still can't understand how u play fps on console its hard I play on pc like ten years When i try ps4 It was hell so hard to control

I started playing Paladins around 2016-2017. Started in a MAC laptop with keyboard... I have no idea how I used to play it (keybinds wise), considering the left/right button of the pad are linked. When I took a 2 year break and came to it, in a different computer (same settings, MAC with keyboard, no mouse), I was completely turned off by the controllers. I couldn't remember what set-up I had to essentially play where my right hand and left hand didn't overlap. Played a handful of games, and uninstalled Paladins (my computer also struggled to keep up with the software, it would lag bad and overheat a lot). Came back in 2023, finally got a mouse, and good lord, it makes quite the difference. That said, I like Maeve because of the mobility, good range and good damage on attack. I've played against some and toggling the damage/death screen and seeing them deal 2K+ damage with 5 well placed daggers makes me want to learn and master her. I love how all her abilities/talents/cards have a good synergy. With other champions, I have to sacrifice X or Y. But with Maeve it doesn't feel like it.

Dear gods this video was so many kinds of helpful. I started looking for guides on other characters that went into the same level of depth and I can't find any that are at all recent (Like less than 6 months) most just say what the cards are and jump into a game, a good number don't even say what the character does or anything let alone why to pick what cards or what talent works for what purpose. The other way I personally like to use her ULT is to isolate targets. I had a game recently where the enemy Seris was guarding the Tyra and vice versa, so I ulted from a distance, the Seris was forced to shadow travel and I was able to kill Tyra, and then run the Seris down when she reappeared. Great guide btw. Very in depth. I can see this being super helpful for newer players, and for players that think they know it all.

I actually started playing paladins for less than a week at this point I’m a level 18 Maeve now Still working on it But most of the things you said like training your aim at spawn are things even me, a new player already know of I think it’s something that any player should know regardless of witch character they play But there are a few things there like the load outs that really are helping me out since I’m still trying to get the hang of it So thank you :) Pretty helpful guide
