VZ-61 Skorpion Comparison. CSA VZ61 .380 vs Zastava M84 .32 acp. Scorpion

The rate reducer is vital in an auto but not so much in a semi so I removed the extra weight in the M84 32 ACP pistol grip which moved up and down like a hammer (for lack of a better word) because it no longer serve any purpose.

This would be a perfect gun if it was chambered in 7.62X25 Tokarev. Then it would be a useful pistol out to a decent range. 32acp is not a reliable round for killing out past 20 or 30 yards, same thing with.380 and 9mm Makarov. 7.62X25 has quite a bit more velocity and energy out to a short distance than any of the other rounds I mentioned. A suppressor wouldn't be as efficient with a 7.62X25 but your typical tank crew or rear echelon soldier doesn't posses a suppressor anyway. Just my opinion but I think it's worth considering.

they tried to maintain the same size of the gun with the 9mm para and it wouldnt work. the 7.62x25 wouldnt fit cos its way too long.

Greta review and comparisation...Fun Fact: Zastava Scorpion is one of the most favorite gun used in serbian underworld for assasinations, in book of crime theres special name for that type of murder something like serbian or belgrade ambush cos assasin will wait you till you get from the car in the right moment wherne you occupied with locking or whatever and killer gets to a target from behind and can fire small bursts or used as a pistol and the gun is very reliable always go bang, i cant even explain you how many ppl were killed by that gun and it was used by highly professional assasins usualy ex military or ex special forces...also easy to carry and easy to conceal...so if its great for them its good for us regular dudes 😉😎

Wow I did not know they .380 ones will seat a .32 magazine! To me it sounds beneficial to own the .380 to shoot with the ability to have the occasional look of the original magazine for decoration

@@gnutzguy I know, but the .380 is the one to have, only on a 9mm P.A.K. lower receiver, so you have a full auto version, only without rate reducer, so its shooting over 1000rpm.

@@frankrommerts5358 no, it can not do FA, the rcmp made sure of that. altho the 32 came with a reducer, the bolt is incomplete, the receiver is missing pillars and the reducer is also incomplete.

Yes, I believe most zastava parts would fit the CSA receiver, except for the FCG.

The Zastava is almost identical to the original vz. 62, the CSA looks cheap and the CNC milled receiver looks primitive.

these 380 mags are fine for range use but personally, im not a big fan of plastic/ synthetic polymer mags bcos they wear out faster if not embedded with stainless steel and long term IMHO no carbon base mags will hold up.

I have a 32acp scorpion, do you know if the black grips are made at zastava? Did the czechs just make wood grips?

the barrels are pinned but you do need a press. be careful not to bend the receiver out of shape.

yes it can, both bullet are the same height but bcos the mag was designed for a narrower bullet, feeding issue will occur.

to a lot of north american, its sCorpion. since i have subscribers in both continents, i put both spelling in the subjects but you will note that in the thumbnails, its always sKorpion. its important i get the history right, i recall a viewer argued it originated in czech rep and not a czechoslovakia, i guess he didnt know the country split. thanks for watching.

I Don't understand but what ever it is, it's best you buy the same manufacturer receiver bcos there maybe a fitment issue plus the safety is different.

@@gnutzguy I'm just wondering if I can use my spare upper receiver and put the either 380 or 9mm bcg and barrel in it to see if itll work. I know the upper will at least fit but i dont know if my normal .32 acp lower can withstand the pressures and such from the calibers.

for the US, they do come without the stock. they mill out the stock dovetail.

I’m sure he did have to register it as an SBR. Reason being, the vz61 are designed to shoot assault rifle billets.

Can you put 380 in the 32acp mag? I'd like to build a vz61 parts kit, but I don't particularly want to buy a bunch of 32acp. (I have a bunch of 380)

yes, you can cos both are about the same length but the 380 is design for a straight mag and the 32 for a curve mag, therefore wont function well.

@@maybe2714 CZ sells a modern made scorpion in 380. Converting a vz61 original parts kit would most likely be a job for a machinist or gunsmith. You'd need a new barrel, stronger recoil spring, and maybe a different magazine etc etc.

Attantion friend !! 9mm Makarow are very oft produced with Fe Bullets (In Russland and Middle Europ ordinarily). If You have not polygonal barrel (like for example CZ 82), please DONT USE MUNITION WITH Fe bullets without protective copper-coated layer on the surface. YOU WILL DESTROY THE INSIDE OF THE BARREL !!

This is also somsthing i want. I collect yugo guns so a yugoslavian marked M84a woud be amazing to find. I found some parts kits but they all have cut up recievers and thats where the marking are so it kind of defeats the purpose of having the yugoslavian version in the first place
