Awesome, thanks for working with Mellow to make such a great kit! Love the design. :) Appreciate all the work on the documentation as well. It’s great to see how things are improving and going forward.

@@justinwalker8364Yes that is right! The back and bottom panels are both aluminum in the mellow kit. Very nice and stiff (but a bit heavy).

My only experience is building MK4:). No experience apart from that whatsoever. However, I always assembled my PCs myself and I learned from scratch to service everything (including engine complete overhaul and tuning suspension) on my motorbike. Anyway - my journey was from MK4 (ditched that as soon as I learned more about the physical principles and limitations of bed swing design) to Bambu X1C, which is a fantastic printer. However I fell in love with mellow 330 kit on the first sight and ordered it with all the stuff for watercooling setup. It will be an awesome high format and high speed addition to my X1C. Im in for a few weeks of steep learning curve:D

Thanks Greg! Your videos are always very informative. I built a Trident because of the videos on your channel. I've been fascinated by the VzBot, but I think I'd build a second Trident before one of these. I need a workhorse for a small home factory. I don't know the longevity of pushing these at those speeds is. It would be nice to see a cost per hour breakdown of running various 3D printers over a couple years time. Thanks for your honest, well thought out content.

Thanks! A trident is a great printer especially for a small he factory. I think the Vzbot would be a great addition as well but it’s definitely more about speed and performance. Thanks for watching!

Thx. The PDF and your GitHub is helpful to understand more about the kit. It’s been a bit challenging to decide if I want to build a kit because it’s not very clear all the miscellaneous things I would need (and wherever I have them already or not).

Thanks! Yes I tried to provide a good amount of detail in the pdf that would’ve been a bit cumbersome to cover in the video. Thanks for watching and commenting!

Hi Greg, lovely video, if i may suggest that you get a small rolling table to have in front of you when you shoot your main dialogue then you could have the printer or some prints from it on that, to keep engagement while you relay your excellent points!

Nice, thank you. What’s the biggest bed size? Can you do a 350mm or 500mm?
@GregsMakerCorner4 ай бұрын
I am not positive - I would think you could certainly go a bit bigger, but it may require design changes to some of the parts.

are you still happy with the vzbot? Would you prefer it over a Voron 2.4?
@GregsMakerCorner4 ай бұрын
Yes, it’s a great printer. I have been almost exclusively printing on it for the last 3 months. It prints 2-3x faster than my v2.4. Quality is not quite as good at the faster speeds, but good enough and I could still dial it in more. I plan on doing a follow up video soon.

Hi was everything included in the kit or did you have to buy other bits to complete ?
@GregsMakerCorner9 ай бұрын
It was probably about 90% complete. I did have to add a few things but probably less than $100 worth of items. I have it documented at my repository here. github.com/techyg/VzBot?tab=readme-ov-file

What slicer allows those brim circles to hold down print?
@GregsMakerCorner7 ай бұрын
I don’t use the slicer feature for the discs, I have a small model that I use and just paste them on the corners. But I do believe Prusa slicer can also generate them.

Hi, I was considering getting one of these kits, how many hours does it take to build?
@GregsMakerCorner Жыл бұрын
I would say probably 8-12 hours for the mechanical part of the printer, and maybe another 8-12 for the electronics. It could be much more if you don’t have as much experience building. Hope that helps!
