When Blackie nails shit on the head, he really nails it. The U.S. has only changed for the worse since this interview and continues to spiral downward. We've had more mass (including school) shootings and people are working even longer hours (many with multiple jobs) just to make rent. Nobody has time for family and children because of all this. I don't know if shit well ever change here for the better anytime soon, but for now I think we can learn a thing or two from people like Blackie; however the many ways he says it, I think the message is the same: in the end we only really have ourselves to look after. We need what precious little time (and few resources) we have to nurture and work on ourselves, whether it's working on that pet project (ex. Your next album) you've been saving for a rainy day, finding personal faith in God/whomever and learning self-acceptance/forgiveness, and generally not fussing over what others might think of you after you go through these changes to better yourself, and remember, you're doing this for YOURSELF, not others. I myself do not consider myself a Christian, but if you really do pay close attention to the Bible (I would suggest checking out all versions for good measure, imho) and what Jesus was really all about (whether or not you believe he was a real person/entity or whathaveyou) you'll find that his very essence(?) is essentially not found anywhere in organized churches; maybe echoes spouted by self-anointed officials who think they can speak on his or God's behalf, but not the exact same thing... Anyway I'm rambling at this point (thanks, insomnia!). To get back on subject I just wanna say Blackie Lawless is just an amazing person; very human and honest with his feelings and views (whether or not you may agree with them) to the public. He only puts on a facade during shows for the sake of entertainment, but when he is asked to speak to the public or the media about what he's all about, he doesn't bullshit or put on false airs. This man is the genuine article.

You need to read deeper into his older lyrics. All his 80's shit was pure devil worship. He might not have even known about it until later, and that is the scariest part man... when you look back and see the bloody trail you left. Glad he's found peace now... if in fact he really has.
