Thank you so much for creating this episode and a big thank you to the interviewees who shared their experiences. This topic is not a taboo at all, in fact, sharing about this gives the society the knowledge on understanding variations among mankind…variations has existed for as long as the beginning of time.
I'm a ultra introvert. And I think one of my colleagues has ADHD. I feel I can't handle him. He always want to talk to someone and I feel my energy draining when I talk to him.
I always have a soft spot for people struggling with ADHD because I was diagnosed too and managed to overcome it

Am i the only ADHD who actually feel proud of myself. My school teacher force my mum to bring me to health promotion board when i was primary 1 because i was ruling the whole class over her at 7 years old. Another art teacher have to lie my mum about closing down her art class just to kick me out from the group. There was so much curiosity and questions about this world when i was child but i was force to adapt to the society norms which eventually subsides the "monkey" inside me. I slowly learn that many of the famous people such as Bill Gates & Albert Einstein was diagnosed with ADHD. Now im in the 30s running my own business. So glad that there are no more ropes being tied to me.

The view that ADHD is only in children is not wrong - just that it is widely believed by the French Doctors that children only have ADHD. Once they grow up, the French believe that the ADHD will dissipate. The French used to believe in this ( I do not know if they have updated their views on ADHD) but certainly, they use to take such a view on ADHD. Such a view is contrary to the DSM, of course, but they adopted the view anyway
I almost watching KZbin daily, but hardly post any comments. But after watched this episode. I have the urge to post my comments. To the interviewees, from the way you speak. Frankly speaking, you sound normal like any other people on the road. To those whom replied that he or she was also diagnosed with ADHD. I believe that you guys also sound and behave normal too. And it seems that being diagnosed with ADHD seems like a closure of what seems abnormal behaviour. But being tagged with ADHD might not be good as you will believe the diagnosis is true. As some of the symptoms are quite normal for kids and adults. Things like forgetfulness and can't concentrate etc. For instance, I don't remember what colour of my underwear which I wore etc. It happens daily. But do I consider that I'm ADHD or go for such diagnosis. Of course no. It's good to trust scientific but don't over do.
Is there any clinic or govt services which you can recommend for test for adults ?

ADHD can reach degree… 😂 better than non-ADHD
@TheFishy9210 ай бұрын
ADHD is not about IQ issue, of course they can reach degree, not a problem at all.
@starshine983610 ай бұрын
@@TheFishy92 gotta debunk a little. ADHD like you said is not IQ issue. Hahaha. So can have ADHD with low EQ too. So getting a degree is not really about ADHD, but it does has alot of effect in managing the very rigid school system especially as compared now to 20years ago.
@starshine983610 ай бұрын
It can a a neurotypical who don't find meaning in getting a degree or don't give a damn to work hard Vs a person with ADHD who work 100x hard to get the degree. It's as if you never knew that physical impaired can compete in Olympics Vs someone who doesn't want to swim competitively

@starshine983610 ай бұрын
@@BeachBoi1000 not really perfection. But more towards social norm. If you put all the ADHD together, then the neurotypical ones are the odd one. Unfortunately the general mass system caters towards the 70% as much as possible I suppose. The others are at the end of the spectrum that trying to fit in the typical 70% way of living as many services or functions are catered for the mass.

Is ADHD curable? Why no mention in this video report?
@starshine983610 ай бұрын
By faith yes. But in science, no. It's neuro issue that use therapy and medication to assist and function. Just like autism, down syndrome, the more physically obvious ones that you might be able to understand and see outwardly, but ADHD, many could mask it really well to the social norms (but take tonnes of effort to do the same simple tasks, but able to do great challenging stuff effortlessly as compared to typical ones at times)

no need to cure, most notable entrepreneurs have ADHD, Bill Gates, Elon Musk, Richard Branson and the list goes on.

Dont listen to the religious BS. Go talk to psychiatrist/psychologist. Get referral letter from polyclinic. If dun wan go imh can ask go sengkang. Also beware some therapist are like the above. By creed/oath, therapist aren't allowed to preach. Should complain/change one if you encounter one.

Is important you get a proper diagnosis from professional like Neurologist,Psychologist and psychiatrist to determine if you have ADHD. Stimulant can be addictive with other intention. Personally think documentary likenesses should be more in-depth and with more explanation.
@silentboomber9 ай бұрын
i wouldn't sure if a Neurologist would be able to carry out a diagnosis test of ADHD, but probably not a psychiatrist The psychiatrist will refer you to a clinical psychologist to get the test, the diagnosis test of ADHD is not part of the scope of psychiatrist

Just wanna clarify the "addictive" part, Many ADHD medications, while they are stimulants, are not physiologically addictive (although it can develop psychological dependence) and they are usually short-lived (the effect will only last less than a day). Just want to put the info out there so ppl won't be scared away by it when they need it
