Well... they pretty much chart the complete abilities of the baroque flute at that time, both expressive and technical. They use an extended range, explore erudite chromaticism's unusual (and very difficult to play) at the time, venture into effects that appear completely original in the presto.. and all while remaining quality compositions that touch the soul stimulate the learned mind. The performers of these pieces must have been absolute top professionals and, being in Berlin, I wonder if one of them was Quantz or one of his students.
