10 years later, I still come back and treasure this mix. Music and mixes like this are what got me through my early and mid 20s. I hope you are doing well these days, and thanks for making and keeping this up for future listening.

@Galatei Thank you! It's nice to hear that so many people like this mix. :) I think I tried to study while listening to this before, but it turned out unsuccessful. Haha

@Sarcous Thanks man! I appreciate comments from everyone, but definitely so from someone who mixes. Yeah, I'd like to think I'm getting slightly better. It's a bit harder when you exhaust a lot of tracks and you don't want to repeat tracks (won't be too much of a problem since I won't be mixing for a good while now though haha) Also, working with a theme in mind is pretty hard when it isn't purely genre based.
@w-isk12 жыл бұрын
Most of this mix is UK hardcore style tracks produced by Japanese producers. I'm not that big on the earlier gabber/Dutch hardcore, but everyone has their preference in music and that's totally cool. I do love nu-style gabber more than the old stuff though. :)

Wow, excellent mix, it's an hour long of fun that helps the work-day pass a little bit faster. Also fun that I already have, love, and enjoy ~70% of the tracks (all the J-Core) ones. Great taste, great mix, favorited and liked! It's evident that a lot of effort went into making this, and thanks for the MP3 link.

Listened to the entire mix nonstop! This has a nice blend of hardcore and hardstyle with a lot of touhou in between. Your transitions are also getting better with good EQ and phrasing. Great stuff overall! :) And I had no idea that you were doing music production in the meantime! I'm actually planning to try producing myself over this summer break, though I have no idea how to get started. I'll figure it out later lool. Post your works whenever you get em finished, I wanna have a listen :P

@Sarcous Character limits suck. Anyway, I've only messed around with production for a little while. I finally saved enough to purchase a DAW. You should download the FL Studio demo to get started since you can export MP3's, just not save projects. It also has no time limit. Although most people recommend Ableton, but just try out demos and watch tutorials and have fun. :D I'll be sure to post up my tracks if I make one that's semi-decent. :)

If you want to get started, google "JCore 5.0 flac", and catch up on the last three years. Some great albums are the Hardcore Syndrome series by Hardcore TanoC, Allkore Riot Squad, Sketchup Recordings, and Pichnopop. Since circles are so small, most stuff is done on an individual basis, like REDAliCE, USAO, Noriken, Betwixt & Between, RIGHT STUFF, kors k, Roughsketch, Shimamura, Mohican Sandbag, and P*Light. It's like the best styles from every electronic category got blended together in Japan.

It has a different drum pattern/beat and usually have more happy/high pitched samples. J-Core usually contains Japanese Samples as well. But like tehmurr said, it's similar to UK Hardcore

As a earliest hour fan of dutch stuff (and real hardcore in general), I agree thet it is absolutely not the same energy. Jcore and UKhappy hardcore (not to confound with UKhardcore, like Deathchant label or other like that), is really kitsch. BUT, I think that it is a good thing ! Sometimes, we need to listen to some music that is not serious at all ... Brain needs to release. I'm also a fan (and producer) of intelligent or dark music, but, I don't know why, I can't stop listen to that stuff ...

I'm actually not a huge Sharpnel fan. He's definitely a well respected producer in J-Core, but I only like several of his tracks. t+pazolite is great but most of his tracks have extremely high BPM and it's harder to mix. I've included his tracks in my other mixes. Besides you can't include every artist you like in a mix.

Musically talking, in France (or Spain), without the japanese vocals, we call this style "Makina" rather than "UK hardcore". Because what we call "UK hardcore" is closer to proper hardcore ... but the one that comes from UK

J-Core is a really loose term now. Tracks by Noriken and DJ Shimamura without Japanese vocals would make you think it's a standard UK hardcore or freeform song. Artists like TANUKI aren't from Japan, but still get grouped into the J-Core category a lot of times. Good tracks are good regardless of what they're labeled as. Just look into the artists if you enjoy the tracks. :)

Jcore is overall faster,where hardcore is more focused on the bass.
