LOVE THIS VERSION. The chemistry is 🔥🔥🔥 they’re ssoooooo pretty together 😍 the resolve is satisfying. ML is resolute, FL is a little softer than the first version and they have a slight misunderstanding but still always stand together. The brother and the wife are like a couple annoying rats around but they can barely make an impact. I like the ending here. ML already made plans and took care of everything to openly be with FL and get the truth in the open. Their little flirty games are HAWTT! Very sweet. Everyone’s acting is great, esp the leads. Simple story but the quality is definitely higher than the first version I saw of this. No terrible acting from the support cast that takes you out of the story. Altho it does come at the cost of the villain also feel more annoying and hateful. The couple stuck together always and never let anyone get in between them. If anything it kinda create more opportunities for them to draw closer. The costume fits the leads so well. UGH they’re so beautiful together. The cast is jsut better looking here. Many ppl probably hates the misunderstanding caused by the MIL about the wedding. BUT in the end, I like the change because it gives ML the ability to plead his case to the king that FL is originally supposed to be his wife to begin with. This gives their relationship complete legitimacy in the end. Whereas the other version FL was always the sister-in-law. I like this better. Also even tho this makes them misunderstand each other feelings a bit, they didn’t really let it stop them from wanting to be together. So it doesn’t feel too annoying. FL has always been my fav but lately she’s gotten a lot more comfortable with romantic scenes that really improve her chemistry with any ML. Love love love 💕

I think the chemistry was brilliant but prefer the other show. The FL in the other one was a badass. She was running the house, business commerce chief and just seemed more sure of herself. The FL in this one to me felt more "carried" and "save me" going on. They made her a bit more meek. It's mentioned she runs the house well but not as a "wow gifted woman". It's not really shown bigger emphasis on the intimacy which we didn't get as much in the other script. They also took out the funny scenes when the brother is chased out by the momos. The other script did have the identity at the end which was probably not really needed.

I've seen another version of this story where the ML's had both parents & not just the mother. In the alternate version the FL was very enterprising + wealthy & therefore an asset to the parents. In both versions the ML adored the FL. The MIL here was horrid in this one. This version had a lot more sensual scenes between the ML & FL. Both was very good. Happy ending. Great casting, acting, costumes.

I really hate when writers and producers include stupidity in their dramas. No persin can be as slow as the FL. This man keeps telling you he's not letting you go, his brother is not havung you and you are are his woman but all this idiot can think is 'he never liked me anyway. Does she think he can't get a line up of different women if all he wanted from her was a bed partner? What makes her so special as his sister in law that he would srixk to her after being drugged initially to the point of giving her two children? His questions about her feelings are as direct as can be without spelling it out yet all her stupid brain can process is 'he never liked me anyway'. FL deserves better.

I usually don't click on any of these dramas if there are kids featured early, but my, am I glad my friend recommended this :). This was really spicy--ML and FL were hot together and steadfast in their commitment. Also, the plot was unusual--most of the time the plot would involve around a FL escaping an unwanted marriage and then the ML appeared to save her again and again. Or, there would be a divorce of some kind very early in the drama. This one had the FL already married to the older brother of the ML through an exchange deception. However, the second twist was the older brother then eloped with his Bai YueGuang (this part of the plot was a murky handwave) and presumed dead. The MIL was worried there would be no one to continue the line of the eldest son of the main line (although we never really saw anyone from the Er Fang--Second Room/Concubine), so drugged both leads and got them together. Their union (these Chinese marriages are so fruitful, LOL--one night and every one of these women get preggers!) resulted in twins. The Eldest son suddenly came back with his Bai YueGuang after five years when he found out how powerful his younger brother has become. And thus started the whole crazy plot of trying to kick the FL out but MIL couldn't because she knew her second son loved the FL and had been playing husband and wife for five years. The leads' relationship was spicy! Spicy, spicy, spicy. I have not seen in a regular C-Drama where the ML actually kissed a naked shoulder blade in a long intimate shot. Usually, there are fake neck kisses or dead fish long seconds smooches. There were one or two like that in this drama, but the TOUCHING was crazy intimate and suggestive for a C-historical drama LOL. There was one scene under the table where the ML deliberately lifted the FL's skirts with his leg between her. And the way he looked at her. Wow. I would like to see him in other dramas--his domineering act was crazy hot. Ignore the fact that throughout the five years the servants would know, what with the children calling the ML their dad. They had shared room like a couple for five years and no one leaked this? And how would the mother not even know, LOL, and still harbored thoughts of saving her son from being "seduced?" Too crazy. Forget the fact that the rich daughter who eloped with her stupid husband could have lived for five years with no one knowing where they were and could just reappear with expensive gifts. Elopement was a big deal in those days and a black mark on any influential family. JUST IGNORE ALL THAT AND WATCH THIS GEM FOR THE ROMANCE!

I can’t believe somebody from the military hasn’t come up and show to find out you know where he been for five years and comes up back with another woman and child that would be the one of the first thing because that’s kind of hard to not spread that a person has come back that was supposed to be dead and find out we try to find out what you’ve been doing for five years that you couldn’t remember to come back to your post
