Good episode. Very informative! Thank you! I have been a vegetarian (plant-based with some cheese and yogurt only) since I was a senior in college, two weeks after taking a nutrition course. I am grateful that I had the opportunity to become a vegetarian with the knowledge of the chemical reaction of food in our bodies and the knowledge of balancing my diet (this is critical if you want to become a vegetarian). These two doctors explained well, and hopefully, more people will become conscious of their food intake and become healthier, inside and outside :) P. S. Impossible burger and Beyond meat taste good, but they are processed, so I do not recommend people eat a lot of them. In America, it is true that more people have become vegetarians. I have noticed that at least one student or two who are vegetarians every semester as compared to none 10 years ago in recent years at the university I teach in Illinois.

Dear Instructor / Prof. Lin: I was in McGill University in the late 90's, there was an organization called Earth Save in which I joined as a student member to sponsor them. However, plant-based diet or any diet for me is purely a personal choice, I do support this idea and live with it but I don't really find discomfort to be with anyone who hasn't been yet. I was like you said to see more and more people are taking this diet in their life or willing to adapt to this plant-based diet. Another level of taking this diet is due to both psychology and spirituality (energy realm). This is definitely the way to go, from another perspective when there are businesses engaging in the support on making this transformation, this could imply the same idea being said from us. People need to self-taught and observe the beauty of such a diet. When everything in this world is with the value of equity, taking this plant-based diet is also showing the ultimate respect to each life, regardless of its form- just like how human history elevated from the discrimination of races or colors in the classic age of physics / science for many innovators; with similar idea, we could say we need to elevate beyond the segregation of life forms with more understanding in this Spiritual/ Energy-oriented era. Sincerely, HP.

@@philipmontreal9135 I agree. Only if everyone can come to this realization, then the world will be in peace, haha! This show has invited some interesting guests to talk about vegetarianism with depth. A good program definitely. I agree with you that many people became vegetarians for ethical reasons. This is true, especially in the younger generation. Taiwan may be the best place to get vegetarian food because everything tastes great. However, from a nutritional standpoint, Taiwan is not the best place to have a balanced diet. Where you are actually is a better place as you are exposed to a variety of cuisines. You get to see more than 50 different kinds of beans, lentils, and grains (like in India too). In Taiwan, we tend to eat only a few kinds of beans and grains. Anyway, the point is to eat whole food :) Thank you for your message and yes, everything has its time so we cannot force people to eat like us :)
