my heart bleeds for him. Sometimes I keep wondering how very good authors would write multiple characters with their own world, their own mindset, their own goal and somehow fit them all together to form a story where only the main character gets to achieve their dreams in the end, which left Jiang cheng, lan xichen, xiao xingchen, and many many other characters being left with no happy ending of their own as they deserved. It all seems a little bit too realistic and I admire mo xiang tong xiu for that. Although, I always, always wonder the exact message she wanted to tell to the world by writing the fact that jiang cheng lost his core to save wei wuxian, when she could've just written that jiang cheng just wanted to avenge his parents. It made it all the more painful for everyone else other than the main characters. Personally I think a lot of mo xiang tong xiu's characters have room for a happy ending, but....the stories just stopped once the main characters have their ending. I get that it's their story, but it makes me wonder what happened to the rest? It's hard, as a writer myself, to write intricate characters so deeply and not give them all proper endings. It's hard not to love my own characters like my own children, so when mo xiang tong xiu just left all those characters hanging, I felt....awful. It's still undoubtedly a good story though.
