My dad flew the Corsair in the South Pacific durning WWII. The stories he would share of flying were wonderful. I have no doubt.. he is flying one now in Heaven

I grew up watching Greg Boyington fly the F4U Corsair in ba ba Blacksheep there's not a better sound in the world hearing one of those startup thank you for sharing

If you love the F4-U, check out the F2-G1 Super Corsair. P&W R 4360. Goodyear built 10 of them.... awesome sounding planes!!!!

Pumping out a bit of oil from the lower cylinders, I would shut down and pulled the spark plugs to check those cylinders.

She's currently going through an annual, so any issues should be found out. Though she's flown many times since this startup, without much issue and relatively normal oil use.

All radials smoke on lower cylinders on startup. It’s normal ops

Great plane. Painted a hideous blue that was never used by the Navy on any Corsair. That's what happens when the rich clueless owner goes to Sherwin Williams and says "Gimme blue".
