Good stuff. I've come to realise that it is the bathrooms that is the differentiator between basic and luxury Vegas rooms. Even the basic rooms (on the Strip at least) are all spacious and have plenty of armchairs/sofas/tables/etc and large televisions are so cheap they are no longer a luxury. But in the bathrooms, the cheap rooms just have a shower with crappy wall mounted generic shower gel etc, but the nicer rooms have a full size bath and fancy toiletries - and when vacationing you have time to take a relaxing bath so it is well worth searching out.

I couldn't agree more. A poor bathroom has stopped me booking many rooms and suites. A tub is a must for me in a nicer room for stays longer than one night. I wish my bathroom at home was as large as this one at W! I do also think that hotels with smaller bathrooms are so varied in their quality. For example, the Harrah's bathrooms are pretty nice - bright with full tile and just nicely done. Compared to say NYNY where a similar sized bathroom has one of those tiny tubs with a shower curtain.

Suspect the bathroom TV situation is more about impending room renovations. No point in replacing a TV that will be ripped out in a few months. The Delano renovations were a decade ago and the property deserves some TLC. That sofa and chair in the living room looked a little sad. There have been some changes over the years, since my recollection of my first stay at Delano was that the room was snow-blindingly white.

I’m really not sure about the TVs. They seemed to work fine any time I stayed here (a lot!). Maybe they wanted to turn off the analog system that was feeding them. Still, I have missed that feature. I think the rooms have held up well over the years but a lot of that I think is thanks to their minimalist nature. I never realised they didn’t redo the bathrooms from when it was THEhotel and I hope they don’t do anything silly like rip out the tubs. I’m excited to see what they do with the rooms though.
