Tenho 26 anos, e sempre tive o sonho de ir a este evento com o meu Escort, infelizmente ja nao será possível.... estamos a caminhar para um mundo em que ja nao me identifico mais... muitas politiquices, muitas regras, infelizmente há pessoas que nao se sabem comportar em especifico neste evento o que levou ao cancelamento, mas acho que podiam dar uma oportunidade, isto tem historia nao e apenas um evento mas sim o evento! Parabéns pela "homenagem" ao ultimo WORTHERSEE e pela partilha de momentos. Um abraço de Portugal 🤜🤛

n entendi o motivo de estar aparecendo novos vídeos dizendo que é esse ano. Uma outra coisa é que proibir algo que durou 40 anos é de doer e nunca vamos ter a chance de saber como que é de verdade

Volkswagen themselves have stepped in to somehow 'save' this kind of event by hosting their own show in Wolfsburg.

Feels very bad to watch this video at the end. "Last Wörthersee..." like saying the last goodbye for very good friend. There is no other event that can replace Wörthersee meeting. It's unique atmosphere can't be replicated anywhere else. Somehow I saw this "last Wörthersee" coming many years ago when I was there, at the lake. My last year was 2018 even back then it was inevitable that things can't continue like this. Too much people that had nothing to do with the event, just creating chaos. Stupidity of some people killed the Wörthersee not the Austrian police. The intervention of the police even in all that inconsequential is just the occurrence of certain things. And you can hate me on this opinion but if the event would have stayed as VW/VAG event we still could have it. I understand that the pre meeting and everything around the main VW GTi Treffen event is impossible to control from other car brands to participate. I'm VW enthusiast 100% and I understand that someone is BMW or Mercedes enthusiast, we all have our "thing" and that's great. But if there is a BMW meeting, I'm not going there to show of my Jetta. I appreciate that they have their own meetings. I also understand that there is thought behind many meetings keeping the car community together with all brands. But all in all, I hope... I really hope Wörthersee will some day come back to it's roots as a VW or VW GTi or VAG meeting. I'm travelling to Wörthersee this week for the last time for now. It can be very emotional trip.Thank you Wörthersee 2012-2018 ❤ Risto, Finland.

Totally agree, almost all of the original VW shows have been ruined over the last few years for this reason, if I'm paying to get into a VW show it's because I want to see and talk about VW's, not volvos and nissans, here in the UK a lot of the big shows are also full of boring new cars (the joke we make is you can get a new car on finance, stick air and wheels on and get into any show field) and I even see things like ferraris and lamborghinis on air.... some events cost nearly £30 to get in just to see stupid cars no one cares about. Gone are the days of £10 entry and cool club stands with cool people and cool cars, the scene is full of posers now.

Idont know how to say this. it's real sad that the place i love no longer available is for people that love cars and the passion for VW. In 2k15 was my first time Wörthersee and that was a dream that time and this year it's feels sad 😢😢

Great video! This is much like the car scene in the US. No one respects things; eventually, law enforcement/government must crack down. Not sure if this is what happened here, but it sucks either way.

I went To Austria this year from the UK in May, I'd imagine it will be the last.. It was pretty terrible and very quiet. It rained every day, Couple other things went wrong. Lastly I ended up with a 600 Euro fine. Genuinely I didn't do anything wrong, even said at one point everything is ok!. like wtf!. They manufactured it so they could extract money. Yes I get there was a few badly behaved people, punish them then. Talking to a lot of locals. 95% of them hated the fact the GTi Meeting was cancelled also really are missing the atmosphere of the ''week before''. Along with the money lost in income for loads of people the new car hating chief and the politzei have gone to far, including the restaurant halfway up to the PyramidKogel. The owner told us, at the time their profits were 90% down.. not cool.
