This is great. Late on the comments. I love 80s Japan jazz fusion and hearing something similar in my days is great. I was born in 2001 so I am now 21. I did not know about Karen girls Sakura gakuin and babymetal for a long time. But I have become a fan knowing we are from similar generation and I have Karen girls fly to the future CD 💖 as well as Sakura gakuin autographs from 2015 2019.

I don't guess many female singers sing Akira Terao (寺尾聰). It might be really not good to say this, but I even believe the covers are better than the original music videos of hers. However, I think good singers and bands generally do great covers. Btw, your recommendation for Halloween Jazz..., wow, I have no words, haha. Thanks.

@@minamihideki7123 I'm doing OK. I'm sad that Healer Girls is ending. meanwhile, Marina's "Watashitachi dake no Mori" is the happiest thing ever created. That entire Bill Frisell album is fantastic, groovy, and odd (I linked the whole album). The ending song "Goodbye Goodbye Goodbye" is suitable for SG. Ayami's cover videos are so strong because she shows more emotion, close to the camera, and the emotion feels like it's based on her life (or great acting), and because she uses the full range of her vocal ability, and because the Minimalist style of the directing and editing is used artistically. They also show her voice and personality purely, and it's an interesting combination of real emotion with a formal playful performance to the camera at the same time. I also like how they form a progression like she is telling a longterm story. It feels like the songs are entirely hers, as much as her own music is. btw, she has repeatedly said that she particularly wants to cover male singers. With the MVs and her album music she is aiming for a particular aesthetic with each album, a particular exploration of genres and good groves, which is very interesting, but it's not designed to be as emotional as the cover videos. (except for the lyrics she writes, which seem genuine and can make me emotional). Most of the MVs are intended to be Fun and Cool and to capture a larger audience, rather than being deep and intimate like her cover videos. However "Again Again" is the most visually emotional one. The contrast between singing about finding new love, looking cool, but seriously crying (about old love?) is interesting and potent. But who is driving the car in the video? Is it a self-driving car? Is she dating the car? 😁
