I converted my high beams to LED on my SL55 a few years ago. My OEM bulbs for high beams were not HID so the LED ones did change to color to more white like my HID low beams. They were not brighter at all - just whiter light color. I'm thinking of converting to LED but, I don't like the way aftermarket LEDs have to be wired. Good to know you can tuck all that "crap" away from sight thought. Are your low beams really that much more brighter than the HID bulbs or just whiter? I think the stock HIDs are rated at 4500K from Philips. I was going to upgrade to 6000K HID so everything stays stock as far as wiring.

My low beams are definitely brighter than the OEM ones to me anyway I did have the 6k HID ones but they weren't really much brighter than the stock ones just color really.

@@turbocraz1 Thanks for reply. I recommend you wet sand and polish your headlights! My right one got cloudy after 16 years. Regular plastic polish did not work. Your headlights will get even brighter if you do that. I have a tutorial on my channel if you interested. Took me about 1.5 hours to get the lens as clear as the left one. Cheers.

@@Enjoythevroom I did sand and polish them 3 times they were very cloudy and yellowish they look much better than they were just need new lenses now.

@@EnjoythevroomI recommend buying completely new assemblies and laminating-x films. I just replaced the films after 7 years on my then brand new replacement assemblies and the headlights look like new. Given the film doesn’t help with the reflector problem. Sanding is illegal in every state and if you get involved in an accident causing GBI or death your sanding will get you in hot water if the prosecution checks for anything illegal on that car. But more importantly, the chrome reflector inside gets dull from the heat and swallows 80% of the light. It’s therefore not just the yellow acrylic glass that sucks.

I don't remember what watt they were, but I sold the car after I installed them so not sure how they r lasting.

Xenon blocks must be removed by replacing them with LEDs? These blocks which located under headlights.

Those are HID ballasts and no you don't need to remove them but LED bulbs will not use them.

the very old ones do move left and right, but newer models dont,. () which is better, less wear.
