Yes, the previous one had an error at the end where the RF Power is adjusted. This has the corrected snippet (starting around 36:36)

The correction was something I wondered about yesterday when I saw the first version since Bird wattmeters are only really accurate towards the top end of the scale and then it's something around 5-10% if I recall correctly; if you're looking for a peak that would do down beyond a certain point the relative measurement might be ok, but if it in fact then exceeds the rating of the transistor then it could be problematic...good catch in retrospect, thanks Alan! 73 - Dino KLØS

Nice vid Alan :) To ground the crystals, it may have been neater to create a loop at one end of the wire (around a screw driver say) and solder the loop to the inside edge of all four crystals - then run the other end of the wire to the grounding point. That would save obliterating the crystal markings too.

Hi Alan, I enjoyed this video. I wonder if we have a budding Ten Tec or Elecraft company in the making?

please brother.

There are no shortcuts to learning. One of the first books I always recommend is "The Art of Electronics" by Horowitz & Hill. This is a great book with a lot of very practical information, without being very heavy on math. The other recommendation is to build, experiment, fail & fix, etc. as much as you can. There is no substitute for experience. You learn a lot more from your failures than you do from your successes.

"First of all, I deeply respect you for responding to my call. Sir, I am a citizen of Bangladesh, and my home is in Barishal. My language is Bengali, and these words are translated using AI. I actually don’t want to learn briefly. I want to be like you. What else will be needed along with this book? And is this suitable for the first step?"

@@abubokorsiddiq580 Everyone has a different journey. My journey included: starting with electronics as a hobby when I was a teenager, getting my amateur radio license when in high school, going to college for my BSEE bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering and working for 39 years in electronics, fiber optics and currently in Test & Measurement industry. All along includes a lot of reading, experimenting, building, repair and troubleshooting electronics. That book is good step. I didn't have the benefit of things like the internet, youtube, etc. when I was starting out. So, I would imagine that your journey will be quite different from mine.

Usually the PA gate bias voltage is set by seeing the quiescent current through the drain.

Jonathan didn't provide a provision for this, but I suppose you could carefully monitor the overall supply current for the change (supposidly due to Drain current), if we knew what the target drain current would be.
