I'm always excited for the long, "boring" ones. The more information I can get, the better. Thanks as always for explaining all the features of this radio. I feel like I discover something new I didn't know about it almost every day, haha.

I've yet to do any APRS or even DSTAR on my new TH-D75 but I sure am impressed with it so far!! I think it was well worth the price.

The TH-D75 (and 74) is simply the best HT for APRS activities. With the TH-D75's wide reception range on the broadcast and ham bands, support for AM, Sidebands, FM, and digital (D-STAR), and of course the 220 MHz band, one will be hard-pressed to find a more complete HT "universal radio" for emergency preparation. Forgot to mention the built-in TNC and Bluetooth support.

Hi Don, I'm wondering what is PuTTY connected to here ? A digipeater ? Thanks and 73

Good question. Putty is just the serial interface to a TM-D710A in converse mode so I could send demo messages on demand quickly. I basically save all the strings I want to send in notepad then copy past while I do the video. Just being lazy I guess. The reason I added to the video was three fold. One to be above aboard about how the messages where being created, two to show that these radios can send and receive APRS controlled by computer and not the radio, three to let those that like to peek under hood and see the engine so to speak can see the APRS data part of the AX.25 Packet which is why I didn't go down to the AX.25 level and use KISS. Hope that helps 73's Kevin KI4LAX
