What sophomores have stuck out to you so far? ALSO, if any players are missing… well shit 😂. Let’s grade em here then!!

Clowney gives me JJJ vibes. A big who can space the floor and block shots. Who you'd expect to eventually settle at the 5, but doesn't rebound the ball well and seems to play better next to a true center.

@@____Riley____ Honestly that’s a pretty good comparison, never thought of that. Yeah I can settle for a tier 3 JJJ. Hopefully we see him elevate as the journey continues.
@____Riley____20 күн бұрын
@@_AVC_ Yeah for sure. Hopefully Brooklyn have found a longterm piece with him. Teams running the jumbo lineup with two bigs are definately having success again.
@_AVC_20 күн бұрын
@@____Riley____ Do we have some numbers on that? Cuz that would be an interesting topic! Or is that just something we think we are noticing?
@____Riley____20 күн бұрын
@@_AVC_ Definately haven't got any real numbers on it, but that would interesting to see what the data says about it being successful. I've just noticed that many of the top teams often run two bigs at once. Like the Cavs, Grizzlies, Bucks with Lopez and Giannis/Portis and the Magic - who have often been playing Carter Jr with Bitadze. Boston will also sometimes play Porzingis with Horford and I guess OKC are tbd with Chet and Hartenstein together.

@@____Riley____ Yeah that is a good amount of them. I’ll have to look into that tomorrow or something, see if those lineups tend to be positive.

Cason Wallace isn’t on there either. I might be a little bias but I would give him a A-B. His efficiency isn’t as good as rookie season but the stuff he does on Defense is fun to watch
@_AVC_20 күн бұрын
@@jackswanson8236 Dammit you right haha. I also totally agree with that ranking. Probably a low A.

I feel like Scoot Henderson feels the pressure of being the next point guard after Dame left. He is feeling the pressure to be what Dame was intead of being his own player and having his own identity in Portland.
@_AVC_20 күн бұрын
@@ethanroar3507 That and the roster around him makes no sense for his play style 😅. I have to imagine there is some truth to what you said though, that can’t be easy.

Scoot Henderson makes me sad. Kinda reminds me of Markelle Fultz. Keyonte George will have a great career.
@_AVC_20 күн бұрын
@@JacobKraemer414 Yeah Portland stays messing things up… really annoying. Yeah I have confidence Utah will figure out George.

Have you watched any Pacers games this year? Walker is shy to take shots, but he's making 3's this year. He just needs to show more will to drive to the basket when the defense has overcommited. Defense has definitely picked up over last year. I believe his issue is more IQ stuff than athlecism or talent issues. The Pacers will make him a great player. 3 & D and with learning to read defenders a bit better he'll be able to drive as well. I'm most unsure on his passing.
@_AVC_17 күн бұрын
@@maddhatt7082 Yeah I tend to agree that it’s mostly IQ stuff haha, dude gets tunnel vision a ton right now but he’s young so it happens.
@maddhatt708217 күн бұрын
Okay, you brought up Ben Simmons not me. However I want you to think of a world where the Spurs take him on a flyer just to have a 6'11" PG. Add scorers around him and Wemby, who have height and length. Simmons isn't expected to score and the defense is ridiculous.

@@maddhatt7082 I don’t know what to do with Ben honestly. I want the comeback but I’ve kinda given up hope.

Jett has worked hard on defense, but still makes young mistakes. He been getting more pt lately, and showing more than 3pt shooting. He has some playmaking skill also.
@_AVC_20 күн бұрын
@@EasyRidingWithUncleDoc I hope Orlando can find a way to get him going in some actions that would actually benefit him. Like they are in a tough situation right now so it’s hard, but all the more reason to try and get his skills out.

Do you think Amen can be an All-NBA PG or just goes to the Wing like his brother? I was so high on him going into the draft as a PG, reminder me of Ben Simmons combined with D-Wade... Also - I see Keyonte George being really good when he has a tall playmaking defensive PG next to him, and Gradey reminds me of Klay with the way he plays on the offensive side.
@_AVC_18 күн бұрын
@@LiamEdelshtein I do think Thompson can be that good at the PG spot. Agreed with George and Gradey.
