It’s only getting better! Now they’ve got Tony Orlando, Joe Piscopo, and the live jazz show! My transistor radio collection really get a treat every weekend with they’re music shows. I diddnt know Brucie was returing, and at a barbecue around 6:30 that Saturday I heard “The Twist” on 77 while tuning the band with my younger cousin and grandmother (who grew up with Brucie) and thought it was just a little transitional-music but, but then I heard the WABC chime, I thought my radio went back to ‘64!
@jeromeglick2 жыл бұрын
@@NickG123 I had heard that 77 WABC used to play music before it went all-talk, though I wasn't around when Brucie was on in those days. I didn't know he was coming back either. Just happened to be tuning around on my Retekess V115 pocket radio while sitting on the front porch here in the DC suburbs as the sun was setting, and I heard music! I thought that's great, that's the way it used to be and that's the way it should be. And Cousin Brucie's back?! That sounds right! Wow, what a coincidence! Just like a hand fitting a glove, connecting us to the past. P.S. I've got an RCA Victor pocket transistor radio from 1960 but it needs a 4-volt VS 149 battery. Where do you get one of those?
@NickG1232 жыл бұрын
@@jeromeglick you can buy them on amazon and eBay but they are a bit costly. The brand is “excell” I believe. It will probably (probably) need a recap but it should kind of work as-is. I would do a full 30 seconds of the song…with a smooth blending of the start and the end…check out California Air Check…I simply do not listen for long to your airchecks because I don’t really get into it with only a few seconds of the music…sorry for the criticism because I know you work hard to offer something valueable. Up to people
@EllisFeaster2 жыл бұрын
I’d like to do 30 seconds. I used to do that. It really has to do with You Tube. When you use more than 10 seconds of music, you run the risk of it being dinged, or even blocked over issues with certain songs. I have had over 300 airchecks either blocked or muted over using more than 10 seconds of certain songs. I used to post whole songs when I started this project in 2008, but as You Tube tightened scrutiny over music, I have had to unfortunately make changes. I just hope with the limitations I have to live with, people can still enjoy the 4,000 airchecks posted.
@stevegettler79762 жыл бұрын
@@EllisFeaster thanks for the explanation…i was always under the impression that 30 seconds was legal and did not violate copyrights..so thanks for informing of that..much appreciated!

@@stevegettler7976 I have some older airchecks where you can still hear 20-30 seconds of music, but You Tube changed the algorithm a few years ago, and made it harder to post certain songs.
