There's an almost otherworldly quality to this mashup, which has the effect of making the individual tracks from each variation seem like they're part of a larger, more cohesive whole. Although the transitions between the tracks aren't always perfectly smooth, they still manage to take the mix to a higher level, resulting in something that is greater than the sum of its parts. While both of the Sonic CD soundtracks only manage to capture a fraction of the setting's atmosphere, they do so in such a way that allows this mashup to exist. Overall, this is a fantastic piece of work - the remix is truly stellar!

I like how this one feels like it represents both songs equally. Most attempts at mixing the JP and US tracks are more remixes of one with a few interpolations of the other (ex. the indoor variant of Quartz Quadrant Present in Sonic Hysteria, or ChillusVGM's Tidal Tempest remix for his Sonic Frenzy project. Both are good but they aren't equal parts both versions.)
