This is it! Wow............I have been looking for something like this for years. I wonder how good it works in the 2d drawing mode?

looks cool but I think a well set up CAD Mouse is still way faster

Does Wacom Cintiq 16 with Pro Pen 2 is sufficient for CAD?

Despite looking really cool, as someone with a lot of background in Solid Works i can't see this being fast, like at all, every measure should be precise, as a engineer you always need to set dimensions by keyboard, in fact you don't need precision at all with the mouse, just selecting vertices and edges, witch will be really slow with a pen. Im totally in for something like this but just for CAD sketching, not working in detail like in SW

that's like saying a pencil and paper are not usable because you need a computer to accurately take a measurement. Been doing CAD for two decades and the only time i have needed to type a distance in with a keyboard was back when you couldn't use a mouse to begin with.

Yeah Christian hear what you are saying but wait til you try it. I had one of the original Cintiq's bought around 2006! I became extremely fast in CAD and that was with Solidworks 2004/5 version. I had issues with RSI from mouse use and the Pen-to-screen interface saved me, but thankfully I also found using CAD fast and more enjoyable. Things like having to select a large number of faces or edges, was definitely quicker with the Pen. I am looking to buy one of the new Cintiq Pros now again as I had to stop using the old Cintiq with the lowres screen. My arm/wrist is messed up again from years of mouse use.

@@JasonNeri So you arent an Engineer? You need to specify dimensions, I don't know how you can go around that

@@gamm8939 snap to. You set it to the detail you need... That's not engineering, that's computer literacy.

@@JasonNeri If i have to specific something the the mm, the fastest and easiest way to do it is to type it.

still seems much slower than some artists / drafters work with a mouse and keyboard. Maybe he is spending time contemplating the design more than some ?

Remember this is an add that is trying to sell you. These Wacom adds do not show anyone doing detailed work and dimension editing. Fusion 360 has an incredibly good interface for a 3 button mouse which is hard to beat even with something as cool as this setup. But I am seriously considering a similar setup since affordable competing tablets are now on the market. The best idea I have seen from Wacom videos is to switch to a standing desk.Repetitive stress relief and actual productivity are more important than cool. I have a feeling this might be good for Repetitive stress problems.

@@JohnHoranzy I’m with you. Now with over two decades “living” in solidworks, I’m all about mixing things up to stay as physically comfortable as possible.

It is cool to look at but not practical. If you are a real designer you have no time to play in such a way and a 3D connexion mouse is much more useful than this beautiful device...I'm sorry because I would love to use it but a keyboard plus 3D connexion + amazing connexion mouse is the real deal.
