I would make edfort but it's like all he wanted to do was sit around his new lady & her kids drinking and I had to click on them & remove myself. But , when he went to the hospital in 2019 & found out he had cancer he called me. I went but didn't stay long cause this itch & her kids were there & was calling this Mofo dad. Again, I was out and haven't spoken to him since. Mind you I have an older brother that's his and he has kids by 4 women & he ain't been isshh to them either. And, bad as it is... Claudia I wanted to thank you for mentioning about absent Father. Mine is literally the same and you’re right about the overachieving. I have always felt “not good enough” because I was competing with the various women in his life and their kids. I do better than them in terms of work and my life, but I’ve worked to get his acceptance. In 2023, I’ve let it go. Claudia please let him go. It’s holding you back. I recently found this show and have been enjoying it. As a child of abandonment and a Life Coach I can say that it is a primal need to be connected to your parents as your survival as a child depends on it. But through my own journey, what I've found is, that the best way to heal is to allow yourself to feel and experience the deep sense of loss and pain that it creates. That will show you what need was not satisfied by that connection, or lack thereof, so that you can find other people in your present life than can provide that for you. Honestly, I don't think that wound ever heals completely. But you can get to a point in your life where you feel sadness about it without it driving you to make unhealthy choices, especially when it comes to romantic partners.
