In this video I go over some of the wade fishing gear for saltwater that I recommend. This wading gear is not required but it will make wade fishing much more enjoyable and safer. If you are a beginner getting started wade fishing I would make sure to pick up a pfd, wading boots, a wading belt, and a net. Having these four items will get you started and let you enjoy your time fishing.
If you find you enjoy it, or are an experienced wader, I would recommend picking up a fish bag, fish grips, and ray guards. There are a number of places you can go to find wade fishing gear my favorites being Amazon and Academy! Wade fishing can be one of the most fun types of fishing but remember to never go deeper than you are comfortable.

Few years ago I was wading with Crocs and they ended up getting stuck in the soft muddy bottom of the Laguna Madre. Long story short I ended up slicing my heel open on a oyster bar. Buy good boots worth every penny!

I’ve lost a few crocs to mud too haha! But I totally agree it’s worth it for a pair of decent boots to avoid any nasty oyster cuts!

When I wade fished, I tied a 15-gallon galvanized tub to my waist. It holds all of my tackle/hydration & my stringer tied to it. K.I.S.S.

I just bought my foreverlast belt about 3 months ago and it didn’t come with the rod holder

The wading belt you mentioned is poor.. A wading belt does ONE thing. I seals the waders from filling with water by always being around the waist tight.

What if ypu arent wearing waders? In Texas, 6-7 months out of the year the water is warm and the weather is way too hot to wet waders. We wet wade.
