Taking place just over a month after the Erzbergrodeo, there's no let up for the world's best Hard Enduro riders in 2018 as they arrived in Sibiu, Romania for the daunting Red Bull Romaniacs. The scenery of the Carpathian Mountains may be beautiful to look at, but the competitors didn have much time for sightseeing as they contend with four days of punishing offroad riding after tackling the famous Prolog race on the streets of Sibiu.

I’ve done so many of those type of races They are brutal but fortunately I have never been helped by any track assistant. I absolutely love the electric start saved your ass when you’re tired and on the side of a hill.

If you had a massive of on some of the in spectator part with no marshals. Would you just be considered dead if you didn't make the check points?

Slow and steady wins the race. No need to be the fastest on these races, but the most consistent. Passing on an enduro course is basically just smashing into someone or cutting in line when people are waiting to climb. How well a rider does in these races does seem to depend on how much help he can receive from spectators. I don't know how i feel about that. I never see Jarvis receiving help, though.

LostInPA watch 5:30 once he loses momentum instead of going straight up he tries to go from side to side as climbing it straight on doesnt work unless you have a run up.

Ok. Yeah I think I fight these too long and get worn out. It would be better to find a different line or go back down. Hard to remember in the heat of the moment.

Aleks Nestserau brake pads make direct contact with the brake disc any water/mud etc is going to be wiped off.
@HarryBermuda
@HarryBermuda 6 жыл бұрын
Aleks Nestserau also chains, brake disc etc are all spinning parts meaning any mud etc has trouble staying on them as they fling it off.
@HarryBermuda
@HarryBermuda 6 жыл бұрын
Aleks Nestserau have you ever gone for a muddy ride then wondered at the end how your chain, discs etc are surprisingly clean? As you move chains and disc move aswell tue faster you go the harder they move and they fling off dirt etc.

enduro kysuce. I don't know what he was on in this vid. he rode a 250 at erzberg earlier this year.
@maverick2242
@maverick2242 6 жыл бұрын
matt courtney you sure about that ? Id be surprised if he's using a 250, not because its not good enough, 250. but these guys especially the Factory guys use every advantage they have on offer competing against the best riders, like Jarvis, Walker, Manny etc, Id be very surprised if he's used a 250 at any event this year. fwiw.
@mattcourtney3001
@mattcourtney3001 6 жыл бұрын
I saw it on the final results from the race. pretty sure he and blake gutzeit were the only guys on 250s to finish in Austria. seems like the terrain at romainiacs would be better suited for a 300 though. all those slow, switchback climbs. that looks brutal.
@maverick2242
@maverick2242 6 жыл бұрын
matt courtney yeah interesting and highly unusual, not saying you are wrong, makes me wonder if a typo in results sheets which is common, but hey you might be right. I would have also thought for they're skill level they'd opt for the 300 for its low end power over the 250 hard Enduro is won and lost on the hills, though here Wade was clearly fastest in the fast open areas, so maybe you are right, he was passed on the hills quite a few times by Manny and Johnny. would be good to have it confirmned, I am a 250 guy myself, but I don't have they're skills I know my limits, I can ride a 300, but I cant truly ride a 300 if you know what I mean. 🤘

JUSES CHIRST theres heaps...this event literally only happened on the weekend if you want better footage look up last years WESS
@HarryBermuda
@HarryBermuda 6 жыл бұрын
This event only just happened thats why majority of the stuff at first were just teasers. Watch the 2017 WESS you can watch the prologue and main event as they upload the exact same show they used for tv. They also upload a 30 minute "recap"
@HarryBermuda
@HarryBermuda 6 жыл бұрын
If you wanted you can literally watch a certain rider do the prologue etc and then you can watch his main day race etc all on go pro. Or you could watch the redbull tv show where they cover the entire race.
@HarryBermuda
@HarryBermuda 6 жыл бұрын
If you're not interested in the tv parts and more just raw go pro footage find the actual rider lmao.
@HarryBermuda
@HarryBermuda 6 жыл бұрын
The go pro footage is uploaded to their channel. Graham jarvis etc all have their own channels. Tbh i prefer watching the tv coverage of the event so you can see where other competitors are etc and i also like watching prolugue and recap etc. If you're just looking for gopro footage better off searching the riders channel as redbull tries to cover the whole event rather then give a few dudes go pros and upload that. Redbull monitors the front of the pack its way better watching people challenge eachother where as go pros dont show where the competitors are etc.

So basically without spectators’ help he wouldn’t be that fast. Or maybe wouldn’t be able to complete the race at all. That’s sort of dodgy. I agree with Tim Coleman here that it’s a contest in pushing the bike more than anything else.
@Madtigertv
@Madtigertv 6 жыл бұрын
Only ones complaining are the losers or those that dont finish. Not ONE person in the Gold class didnt have some sort of help in this race FACT. Most will agree who were in Romania that Wade was one of the few who needed the least amount of help by everyone there. Maybe Tim should spend more time in ugly ass single track terain and less time making those cute KZbin trick videos.
@dirtmonkee13
@dirtmonkee13 6 жыл бұрын
As skilled as Tim Coleman is he’s never won this race or any other major hard enduro, so stop discounting how hard all the riders of any of these hard enduros work. Wade Young is an amazing rider and would school you everyday of the week. You’ve got some big balls trying downplay the skill level of the guy who just won Romaniacs.

Without spectators (or sometimes other riders) help they would all still be in that forest.
@HarryBermuda
@HarryBermuda 6 жыл бұрын
Spectators helping is common af. Most spots are just ridiculously hard thats why. Erzberg has "no help" zones where the riders are on their own but the terrain is very easy compared to what they're use to...
@HarryBermuda
@HarryBermuda 6 жыл бұрын
Everyone gets help. Hell erzberg is the most common for it yet out of 500 riders barely 10 finish every year even with the assistance available...

If riders of wy's skill have to bark for folks to pull them then you have an unfair playing field and poorly laid out event, would KTM support people pull me over obstetrical s on my Yamaha? Jarvis and Taddy quit the event, wtf? It seems more of a competition of who can make the ugliest coarse! I say all outside help is eliminated or your DQ'd.
