Wade , your Mom is precious! You are a fortunate young man . I really enjoy when your wife and little son accompany you also. I watch a lot of videos lately, and especially enjoy the suspense and surprise of watching you and others open the boxes and trunks. I am quickly approaching 70, and retired. And I am also resting at home from cancer surgery and all the ugly treatments that follow. I have never left a comment on any site before, but just wanted to thank you for how fun you make watching you and your family in this adventurous way of life. God bless you.

If I am not mistaken hahaha and use the Grumpy Old Men movie as verification... those short fishing rods and reels are used for ice fishing. They use them in those little outhouse sized buildings they call ice shanties out on the frozen ice. They were in top demand back in the 50s and 60s, I would say there might be a nice market for them

For sure , make sure Mom is involved. It comes across clearly that you are in this game for the money. Mom seems to have an appreciation of the intrinsic value of the items you are showing. I am not watching you just to discover the worth of these items. I want to know something about them and have a little time to appreciate them. Recently you zipped through several really weird boxes of items that I would have liked to have seen more of. I was really ticked that they were only flashes in the boxes.

just so you know length has little to do with how well it can be used... the fishing poles that is... lol... however very short ones like that are mostly used for ice fishing. No casting required, but if you are thinking they would not work in a lake or pond, think of the old Pocket Fisherman. It was short, but did work pretty well.

The glass in a stand is called a half-yard. You drink beer from them...carefully. I first saw them at a renaissance festival. There are also much taller ones called full yards. I’ve seen some funny attempts to drink from them. There’s a trick to it.
@mezellenjohnson27535 жыл бұрын

8:30 Those stoves are good, very handy if there is a power cut. David Winter cottages and houses are very collectable, worth more with the box. You are right Grandma Ventures, David Winter is English. The long glasses are for a "yard of ale" it is an Engllish ppub game. you fill them with beer and try to drink it all in one go, without spilling. You do it against the clock and the fastest one of the night wins.
@gloriagloria7165 жыл бұрын
the round blue and white thing you put sweet herbs inside, it is called a pomander.
@profsakharov11915 жыл бұрын
Those 'heavy' model houses - Google 'Clovelly, Devon' and you might see where some of the inspiration for them came from. The long glass items with a bulb on one end and a wide opening on the other are a sort of pub drinking game. The thing itself is called a 'yard of ale'. It is filled with a beer (bitter or mild) and the idea is to be fastest in downing the whole thing. Watch out - it requires a certain knack to empty the bottom bulb without getting a sudden beer shampoo and facial. .
