The truly amazing thing about this for me is the effort put in by Machiya and Yuko. I mean, English isn't their first language, and yet they're singing a purely English song, adding their own melody and sound to it.

I had no doubt about Yuko holding her own with Amy, however I'm used to hearing Machiya singing with Yuko as a backing vocalist, never expected him to ,in my opinion, outdo the male vocalist from the original version. That was amazing.

I remember when Amy went to Japan in February to join Wagakki Band in Osaka for Symphonic night, they also mentioned recording Sakura Rising... so that was one awesome trip. But only now they have released this song fully and I love it. I mean, BMTL was already reimagined by Evanescence for their Synthesis album and tour with full classical orchestra, but I have to say I love this version smidgen more because of these beautiful authentic Japanese instruments that gave the music entirely new sound. Awesome reaction, looove how you really enjoyed it. I truly enjoyed your comments, and will re-watch it right away 😁 Thanks for yet another fantastic reaction. 🤘❤️

@Sports Braa Lol... hahaha, I knew someone would find that term funny. Btw, two tiny corrections : the song is not Wake me up but Bring Me To Life, and it's been released in 2003. But, what do I know, there probably is a song Wake me up from 2001 😜☺️

Machiya, the guitarist, is basically the backup vocalist. I've even seen the bass player sing, but not very often.

Yoko, Asa, Machiya and Beni can sing. Yoko is just a higher tier.

Asa (bass player) did the vocal with yuko for yoshiwara lament, because Asa wrote that song before wagakki band.

Wagakki Band has these (special) concerts called Premium Symphonic Night where they basically perform with an entire orchestra (they've only done this twice I think), and they had Amy as a guest for this one. I actually first heard of Amy via that Bring Me To Life performance, and was absolutely blown away by her voice ❤️ Welp, had to thank Wagakki Band for this one ;)

This is Wagakki band's 2nd concert with orchestra. They did two songs with Amy here- "Bring me to life" and their most popular "Senbonzakura", it will be released soon as a bonus of the new album "Tokyo singing". Yuko plays a piano on it, also in Hanafugetsu - the band she created before this, with the koto and shakuhachi player of Wagakki band. Machiya (the guitarist) supports Yuko almost every song, they share few songs and he is alone in one-two occasions. He sings a lot, has his own band, made before Wagakki, other projects as guitarist, vocal covers, sound engineer and what not. He brings together the Wagakki band music. But he is new to this type of vocals, that's why some people don't approve him. I think he is doing well. He's so versatile as an artist, he could get better. But my guess is, he won't stick enough with the style. Who knows? They are evolving. His solo at the moment is jazz. Except in Wagakki band and his instrumental solo albums where he is Machiya, he is famous with the name Shin Oumura. The band has more hidden vocalist. The shamisen girl Beni used to sing Minyo - another type of traditional singing. The bassist Asa has solo activities as a vocalist. The wadaiko drummer Kurona has his other band (along with koto and shakuhachi players).

Evanescence was absolutely the band back in 04-05 for me, that was the best years for me. Amy Lee is a special kind of voice that draw you in to her music, kind of like Grace Vanderwaal does. Different voices but they have that special tone and quality that is a sound you just don't forget!! They sound nothing alike but both draw you in!

I was in there when this Live Concert! (Oosaka-jyo hall in Japan) The excitement at that time revives and goose bumps appear. lol♪ If you put out this Amy's video, you need one more reaction video.
