I have been waiting on you to react to this, you were on script with your reactions. They formed in 2013, with Yuko Suzuhana (vocals) the catalyst. They are all superb musicians with their instruments and individually highly respected. They have performed in the US and there are several US interviews on KZbin. Beni Ninagawa who plays the Sahmisen will have up to 4 of them, each tuned differently with a "tech" to retune them as required during the concert. I have read they are bigger than Babymetal in Japan! Thanks for reacting to this one and yes you are going to have re-listen to it several times to get a handle on everything that is going on. Trivia: Did you notice that the lead guitarist (Machiya) was barefoot? How cool was the mask he wore?
@dicodec4 жыл бұрын
Oh dope! Thanks for the info! Bigger than BM? That's wild. We will re listen for sure, the songs was too good not to. Also we didn't notice that he was barefoot. The mask was really dope! 👌
@_m_ishere.35554 жыл бұрын
I don't know how they're measuring the popularity of these groups. Babymetal biggest shows were 2 nights at Tokyo Dome. They had several shows at Yokohama Arena and Saitama Super Arena, more times than WGB ever did. Summer Sonic and most Japanese festival nowadays would put Babymetal as main act or close to main act. Although tbf, WGB has more contents to offer besides just performances. They also interact with fans regularly.
@outwest10144 жыл бұрын
@@_m_ishere.3555 The reason I said I had read it. Is that I had only seen quotes from articles out of Japan. No actual numbers such as album sales, concerts, etc. Also the appeal of the inclusion of traditional instruments is a factor.
@josemanuelperez28534 жыл бұрын
@@dicodec Well, that´s easy. Metal isn´t really a popular genre in Japan (like in rest of the world). Most popular music in Japan is... pop (J-pop) sadly. And there´s another thing. Wagakki Band so a lot of "remixes" of popular and traditional japanese songs and they are very popular in summer events called "Matsuri" in shinto shrines along the country. The mix between tradition and modern music made they very popular in those festivals. The old people like the tradition and the young ones the modern so is a "win win" situation.
@織田ペコ3 жыл бұрын
@@josemanuelperez2853 Yes,that’s right. Also,metal band is not so much exposed on tv media. General people don’t know metal musicians even exist in Japan. Example,like Ningen Isu, mostly are didn’t know until recently. KZbin opened the closet.

"Homura" is guitarist' solo composition, before entering Wagakkiband. They incorporated the shamisen at first, but play it in original ver. ever since 2016. They have lots of instrumental combinations. There's a series called Tono monogatari (-go go;-yon yon;-kyu yon, depending on instrument combo), Chie no kajitsu, Gobousei+Homura(but there's one more in the video), Finit limits, EinzelKampf - last two not yet on youtube. I might've suggested songs before, but can't remember. Are you willing to accept ballads or jazz? If yes - "Sabaku no komoriuta", "Synchronicity". If not, "Ignite", "Howling", "Guren", "Iroha uta" or the one i think is most complicated, no one reacted to it - "Hotarubi" (Heian jingu live 2017). Willing feast for they eye - "Strong faith" music video.
