Senbonzakura (1000 sherry tre). This song is about the westernization of Japan, which happened during the Meiji Restoration. Despite having an upbeat, oriental track, the song contains rather dark themes, mentioning guillotines and ICBMs. In addition, the lyrics state things such as "Songs of lament go unheard" and "This is a banquet inside a steel jail cell". The song is taken from vocaloyd, so it's actually a cover of Hatsune Miku This concert was supposed to be Dashinnenkai (New Year's concert / party) in January 2020, but was postponed until August of the same year, therefore Manatsu no daishinnenkai (Midsummer New Year's concert / party). Yokohama arena has room for 17k spectators, but due to infection control they were only allowed to let in 5k. Everyone had to pass negative covid test, wear face mask and were not allowed to sing loudly or shout. Therefore, this version of Senbonzakura lacks response from the audience during the song. I think this song is not about Meiji. Because music video of Hatsune Miku looks like Taisho roman But I think parallel world of modern time (or future) because many stuffs are mixed in the lyrics like 反戦国家、環状線、光線銃 And I have never heard there was 断頭台 in Japan It's so hard to explain about this song....

Great to see you promote the Waggaki Band. There are not sufficient western people making reactions to them. They prove that music crosses international boundaries. Pleased you didn't complain they don't sing in English.

We do have cherry trees in America, at least to a certain extent. In the 1910s, the myor of Tokyo gifted a number of cherry trees to Washington DC. They're still there and bloom every spring. I saw them in the mid 1990s. I'd ove to see them again as an adult.

Cherry Blossoms are all over Washington DC, a gift from Japan, they surround the Tidal Basin by the Jefferson Memorial and they hold a Cherry Blossom festival every year

焔 (Homura)+ 暁ノ糸 (Akatsuki no Ito) is great. Another band you should check out the Mongolian band called The HU that's like a Tibetan monk growl chanting with some Mongolian instruments :)

I can't disagree with you about much there. If you enjoyed that, another track that features the 'flute guy' (Daisuke Kaminaga, I think that's how you spell it) heavily is 'Tengaku' another brilliant song , they have many brilliant songs
