Wagatha Christie: Rebekah Vardy loses libel case against Coleen Rooney

Today a High Court ruling sided with Coleen Rooney and against Rebekah Vardy in the so-called Wagtha Christie trial.

The result is likely to cost Mrs Vardy in the hundreds of thousands, if not millions of pounds.
While for Mrs Rooney the verdict is a vindication of her work to uncover the source of leaks from her social media account.

No the way it works is Vardy will have to pay her own and Colleen Rooney’s legal costs

The loser must pay court fees, and the fees are proportional to the size of the claim. The fees don't match the true cost of the court's operation though. So yeah taxpayer's money us involved. But on the other hand having a reliable justice system means most cases never get to court as cases are predictable. That saves money. Swings and roundabouts as we say.
