Waggon und Maschinenbau Diesel Railbuses of KWVR & Ribble Steam Railway 18-20.02.2013

Features M79964 of Keighley & Worth Valley Railway + E79960 of Ribble Steam Railway. The KWVR was filmed on 18 & 19.02.2013, The Ribble Steam Rly was filmed on the 20.02.2013. E79960 is on a long loan from the North Norfolk Railway.

Thanks Tommy. The Worth Valley footage has the benefit of the sun. I quite like these Railbuses. Makes a nice change from filming the bigger stuff. They ended up running at half hour intervals after you left Ribble and they were quite well loaded, so it would be a good day for them. Mark

Hi Andrei. Thanks for that. Your right superb horns. I couldn't resist filming the deer. The foggy Oxenhope was actually the warming up of the carriages for the first steam loco run. They are stabled at Oxenhope. They generally use a diesel for the first run of the morning and this being half term, there are services all week. Regards Mark

Some great work has gone into capturing this. I’m told the overhanging ends can give the stomach a bit of a churn 👍

Hi, thanks for watching and leaving a comment. I've not had much footage of the Worth Valley one. They tend to use it on the first run of the day. I now work quite near to the line so I managed to pop out from work for it on Monday and Tuesday and I am glad I did. I really enjoyed filming it. Regards Mark

Ah that's right, I thought they had one at NNR, that's the one that's at RSR now is it. Has quite a good exhaust note doesn't it, and they do have good horns. Lovely view of foggy Oxenhope, and the deer.

I can remember when they used to use 79964 and 79962 coupled together. Hopefully 79962 will run again soon.

Hi Dave. Sorry about late reply (Major computer problems). Ive been visiting KWVR many times over the years but never seen 62. I read somewhere that they had sold it to one of the supporting societies and as you say, hopefully it will run again. Regards Mark

My son is special needs and he loves trains 🚆🚂🚃🚄🚅🚇🚈🚉🚊🚝🚞🚋🛤 especially railcars like that one he finds them very interesting and thinks that they are highly underrated rail transportation vehicles here in North America 🇺🇸🇨🇦 and thinks that Progress Rail, Siemens, or any other company that builds railroad equipment should build exact copies of these and the departments of transportation should restore and rebuild railroad lines that were abandoned and/or removed and run these on them.

E79960 still has its original Bussing engine and has a different exhaust sound to the AEC engined ones

Does one of these still have its original engine. A bussing or something spelt similar?

Hi Lea thanks for watching. I didn't know the answer so I've googled it and according to KWVR theirs has an AEC engine introduced whist it was with British Rail. I couldn't find out what engine was in the Ribble Steam Railway one. regards Mark

Monopodmansdad hi found the number in a old magazine , googled 79962 railbus .All the details came up ,it's at the vintage carriages trust, out of service for 25years but being restored and yes it does have its original German buessing engine. Many thanks for your reply.
