Enjoyed your new video, the one thing was Evening Star, in my fireman time I did manage to fire the steam name of that name.Kind Regards

Thanks a lot Ramon, that’s one hell of a feather in the cap to get the last. I believe this was the last 66 built, hence the name in homage to the steamer.

Thanks a lot John, glad you stayed till the end to catch that picture. Closed in 1968 after being open since 1850 under the L&NWR. I’ll drop in more pictures over the next few episodes, search on google for disused stations, there’s some great info on Diggle station.

Nuclear flask wagons when loaded with flasks en route to and from submarine base in Plymouth are accompanied by a couple of DRS coaches containing armed guards to protect the convoy, its always double headed (or top and tailed). Nowadays will be Class 68’s/88’s.

Yep, enjoyed and liked again Luke! Funnily enough was wondering just last week if 66723 was still painted up as Chinook - I last saw it at a RAF Odiham families day not long after it had been named - GBRF took it there on a lowloader! 🙂Have to say a single 66 looks to struggle on the Drax trains! Great video again!
@DiggleJunction4 ай бұрын
Thanks a lot Keith, that must have been a sight to behold! What an undertaking to get it over there. They definitely struggle on the hills up, I guess it must be worth it to be able to fly down the other side at 75 instead of 60.

The difference between the loaded and unloaded biomax trains is significant, the 66`s do struggle a bit. Still got the bouncy points then, brilliant thankyou.
@DiggleJunction4 ай бұрын
Yeah they really fly along when empty. I gather that’s why they’re swapping the 60’s out so they can travel at 75 empty with the sheds. Points still as bouncy as ever haha.
