regardless of the sound... the EVH has the most satisfying CLICK out of any wah I've tried.

This is how product comparisons should be done excellent, I think the CAE takes this one more character in the tone, nice job.

CAE/MXR MC404 Wah is flat out the best Wah ever mass produced. Amazing

EVH!! Yet, if you're a good player with a well set up guitar and tasty tube amp, you can make most WAH's sound good. I do like this comparison and it's super useful video. THX!!

Totally agree I've been playing in bands for 40 years I've tried and owned many many pedals over the years especially overdrives I describe them as just different flavours of tone but very similar flavours that most people wouldn't be able to tell the difference in a mix as for wah pedals let's be honest they only get used sparingly in songs so buy yourself one that fits your budget I've been using a Hellbabe wah for a while now very cheap wah but it has a boost option that's great for solos again no one has told me my wah tone sucks you are spot on if your core tone and playing isn't there no pedal can help you

It should also be noted that the CAE has internal pots for "Q" and gain adjustments. Extremely flexible.

The CAE is the best wah you are going to find. I've been through so many that either sounded good clean or high gain but this one sounds great no matter what you ware looking for.

Thank you. This is exactly what I needs to hear. I've owned a CAE before and it gets the sound I want.

Great demo of two fantastic wah pedals.

Maybe it's me, but the EVH seems to either have a wider sweep or it is indeed brighter than the CAE (yellow Fasel). I like a little more warmth in a wah. It's hard to judge which of these two I like more.

Hi Stratoboy Both wah's are 9V powered. You can use a battery or a power adapter with a negative tip.

WOW thanks! i've been trying to decide between these tow, but since they're so new, there hasn't really been any feedback about them on the web. i figure that i can't go wrong with either one, since both are excellent, but i did have a bad experience with a crybaby standard: the switch broke after about a year and a half.

I have a Slash wah and it has a very dark tone due to the Fasel inductor. I have wanted an EVH wah to get a brighter sound, but I still haven't scraped up $169.99.

The EVH has a little more spank and the CAE has more fatness and vowely sounds. They both sound great. Wonder how the CAE does with fuzz?

I actually prefer the EVH here, seems throatier and has more quack and character. I had a CAE for a while and wanted to like it, but it somehow wasn't appealing to my ears. Great demo!
@fritzempit13 жыл бұрын
@riffs66 i do agree with U, but i just wish if the CAE have wider range like EVH ...correct me if im wrong, or just because the EVH have more treble?

Although the CAE doesnt sound as bright as the EVH, the cae can be change to get that sound ur lookin for, it is much more versitile whether ur playin a solo or some rythm thing, but if ur just gonna play nothing but solos go for the evh
@ericpresley75276 жыл бұрын
Josh Weimann Yes you right its not as bright and thank god for that treble is the enemy just ask Eric Johnson.
@maxsalasr10 жыл бұрын
CAE sounds better, more musical and usable, the other is brighter but lacks something... maybe eats some of the guitar pure signal... dunno. I much prefer the CAE

I think EDDIE'S IS BRIGHTER BECAUSE IT HAS A 150K ohm potentiometer, which gives more of a sweep especially at the treble end. But I don't know much about CAE Wahs. maybe it does too.. Matt.

if ur just running the evh wah, and u have a distorted sound on ur amp, will the wah be distorted, or will it be clean unless u have a distortion pedal before it in the loop? (i dont have an effects loop, im just running through the front of the amp)

The EVH lacks the personality of the CAE. There's a few more "vowels" in that puppy (the CAE) that the other. Just my opinion. And since when is VH a wah guy, really?
