I think the 2D monster is bullied by the others who all go in the same direction. He fantasizes about the 3D girl, but objectifying her into his own 'waifu', as (some of us) do with 2D characters. Then some things happen that I don't understand. Maybe the reason she's his idol is because she's free to be herself, as shown with all the different makeup. At some point he manages to drag her into the 2D world, the same as we would drag a 2D character into the 3D world if we could. With her power he blasts away the [correction] *gray, angry outer shell* of the 2D guys, revealing the richness within each one of them. But the girl is lost and lonely in the 2D world, until she find her 2D B/W alter ego and... marries them? I have no idea what the B/W alter ego means. I'll probably have to watch this 100 times to understand half of it. Oh well :-)

@@paula.827 Well, I disagree. S3rl isn't one shy to leave secret messages in his music/music videos. "Well That Was Awkward" had both Hidden Text and a Waldo. All That I Need had a Waldo as well, in addition to possibly being a warning against the addictive properties of love. I'll See You Again was a flat out story being told - an angel rising to heaven, telling her loved one that he will join her one day, and then they'll be together again. I believe there is some meaningful symbolism here, and I want to know what that is.
