Waikakahoe Walkway

This walkway follows an old goldminer's trail across the range between the Wairau Valley and Linkwater. It can be walked or ridden in one day, but you will need to arrange transport between the road ends.

I went up the other side with a couple of friends and at the start where the farmer live there was a very angry bull just tearing up the ground, the farmer came to shift him which pissed Mr Bull off even more, we only went to just before the top and the weather was closing in and was cold . Warning be careful on the return as there were warratah post sticking up and angry bull was thankfully in the next paddock but wouldn't have taken much for him to get out
