I have traveled all over the world, but had never been to Hawaii until last November. The weird thing is that Hawaii has been my dream vacation for my entire life, so I finally made it! You’re taking me back to some very fond memories and I can’t wait to go back. Bless the Hawaiian people during such a terrible time! Mahalo!

This was eerie to watch. I was born and raised in Honolulu and my parents still live there. They drove through Waikiki the other day on the way home from buying essentials and described to me how empty the streets were. Thanks for uploading this video to show first-hand what things are like in my hometown.

Yeah so when I'm walking and recorded music plays I never know if youtube is going to give me a warning about the music. Thanks for watching! Be safe! Aloha =)

One thing that surprised me about Waikiki is that at night almost everything closes. Watching your video shot during the day is pretty much what I experienced when walking the Waikiki streets at night.

Thank you so much for doing this. I visited Oahu, Maui and the other islands 4 times over the years since around 1986. It's been many years since I've been back. I love the islands, but I don't think I'll ever be able to return. You've given me a chance to see some of Waikiki again. To experience walking in some familiar places. It's so sad to see so much closed there and where I live as well. God Bless and keep you safe. I hope you'll leave this video up so I can watch it again and again.

Good morning Luke 😊😁!! Thank you for bringing Hawaii to us, but, I DON'T want you to think that you have to go out in the public and expose yourself to this horrible virus just for us, it's NOT worth it!! You can always just stay home and show us your fabulous family and Hibiscus's again, that video was pure gorgeousness!! You could really use this video for a mere sample for what's in store for people interested in coming to Hawaii after the virus is gone, it's a great video! Hello Cheryl, Austin, Kari-Ann, Cheri and you too Luke, I hope that you are all staying healthy and at home, I care about ALL of you!!! 😊😚😙❤👵👋👋👋👋👋

@@PhotoLukeHawaii Thank you Luke for being so nice, you really are wonderful, and I truly mean that!! Hey everybody, what have you all been doing since this shelter in place/stay at home order started? I'm doing puzzles, I'm on my 2nd 1000 piece puzzle, the 1st one that I done was Wolves in the snowy mountains and since I finished that one, now I started a puzzle that has 87 dogs/puppies on it, it's quite challenging, but, not as challenging as the wolves were, that was really hard. I sure think about you guys a lot, you mean so very much to me!! Do you get to talk with your parents Luke, I absolutely hope that their staying healthy during all of this, and Cheryl's parents too!! I just can't believe that this is going on!! Do you like Kealii Reichel's music? I sure do, wow, what a singer! I don't understand the Hawaiian words, but, that music, melody and the Hawaiian vocals are absolutely wonderful, I always get goosebumps whenever I hear the Hawaiian language, I get all teary eyed and choked up, very emotional. I have seen Kealii Reichel in concert twice both times here in downtown Seattle, and he never disappoints! I love thinking about you guys, I want you all to be safe and healthy, hello to everyone, you too Luke, please take care!! 😊 😚😙❤👵Didi

Thank you for watching, for your support and for sharing us! Sometimes people need to see it to believe it, glad we can be a tool for that too! Oh yeah Longs has been kinda low on supplies but, they got more in for their sale today and it was a good sale. I'm trying not to go out so much but, we did go today and there was a line so we drove to another one and there was a line there too but shorter. They had a lot of their sale items still but all the anti bacterial wipes and Clorox wipes were out of stock. Anyways, we found that it was good to have the line outside as they were only letting so many people in the store to shop at once. So keeping a distance from people was easier and you can tell everyone is trying to be considerate and keep there distance or move on the side. Sorry lol you mentioned Longs I had to share our experience. Thanks again for watching and supporting us! Be safe! Aloha =)

It's been over 30 years since I last visited and it's just as beautiful as I remember (although I don't remember an Apple store, Tesla or Burberry from my trip). Pretty sure we stayed at that Outrigger as I remember being across from the International Market Place. That's the beach where I learned to surf. All around just a beautiful area. Hope to return one day. Thanks for sharing.

It's weird how deserted it is. I went out for my evening walk yesterday, there were barely no one in the streets. QUIET, that's for sure. When one get accustom to people surrounded, it's scary to me, because it feels like I'm the only one on this earth. It feels like the Twilight Zone. Good video. This made me a little tears watching this video 😢. We travel from Australia every 3 years to visit paradise and sadly this was the year we were supposed to come but all travel from Australia is band now for who knows how long . For you to have no tourists there for a period of time is probably a good thing for nature preserves to replenish themselves . But how will your economy cope with so many shops closed and no tourists ?. I send you all our love and hope you all remain healthy and get thru this tough time . Hopefully we will be back in the near future .much love from Australia

Having just done a nighttime Waikiki walk two nights ago, I can tell you it is actually borderline scary how dead everything is. I literally could stand in the middle of Kalakaua Avenue and Kuhio Avenue and not see any vehicles or people. The emptiness is emphasized by the many hotels which are completely dark because they are closed and unpopulated. Along Kuhio Beach, the only sound you hear is the waves - no engines, no people, no music.

My wife and I have been to Hawaii three times with the last trip being in 2016. We stayed at the Hyatt Waikiki and walked up and down Kalakaua Ave many times. Since Hawaii depends on a lot of tourism, one can only imagine how much the small businesses are suffering. When we were there, we would ALWAYS eat at the small mom and pop places. It's really sad to see everything shut down.
@PhotoLukeHawaii4 жыл бұрын

I love watching your video's, it's fun. I've never been to Hawaii, and watching this gives me ideas of what to do when I do get to go. At about 7.00 of your video, there are two tall hotels in the middle on the beach, they look like twin hotels.. What is the name of those? I'm interested in knowing what hotels are on the beach.
@PhotoLukeHawaii3 жыл бұрын
Orphelia Burnes aw thank you very much! Mahalo =). Okay looked and it looks like you're seeing the Hyatt Regency Waikiki Beach Resort and Spa and I believe both towers are theirs. We stayed at there once and in was nice. A good way to look at other hotels is with Google Earth or Google Maps, just search Waikiki and you'll see all the hotels there along the beach. Fun when you can change the views or if you're on Google Maps you can see the street views... Thanks for watching! Aloha =)
@orpheliaburnes3 жыл бұрын
@@PhotoLukeHawaii You're very welcome, and thank you for the reply. I'm interested in the hotels that are actually right on the beach. I know there's not many as most are on the next street, across from the beach though too. But maybe one day you can do a video walking along the beach from one end to the other, so we can see what hotels are on the beach? I think the hotel that I have in mind is the one that has Dukes bar ? is that on the beach? But yes I will check out google too. Thanks for the advice. Keep up great work .. :)
