1:22 I have attempted to make a platformer before, and from that experience, I know that every good platformer allows you to jump a split-second after you've gotten off the ledge. That's for frustration prevention, because otherwise the player might think that they should've been able to still jump, even though they already went off the ledge a split-second ago. However, our brains are kinda slow, so that we always experience what happened a split second ago instead of now, so any good game is designed to compensate for that. ---------- This is a thing that ,,Wait and See" did right. However, they made the mistake to not design the jumps in a way that allows the player to clear them even if they didn't get off the ledge, which is a mistake that every good platformer avoids. ---------- Now you hopefully understand the purpose of this mechanic, which is named ,,Coyote time".

Could you do a video on the Boogerman NES port by Super Game? There is another NES port by Rex Soft called "Boogerman 2", but that one is so bad it's probably not worth your time, and the Super Game is much more interesting and playable.

The game was developed by tomsoft in 1997 not dragon co.

Tomsoft (Tommy Xie) was a developer at Dragon Co. While it's true that he did continue to use this alias after leaving the company, any Dragon Co. game with Tomsoft credits in the data just seems to imply that Tomsoft was involved and used his SDK. Games that Dragon Co. developed after his departure don't have any Tomsoft credits.

Yeah, it was really common for Dragon Co. (and later Nice Code and JungleTac) to steal sounds from Super C specifically. I just think of them as "generic" sounds because I heard them so much in my childhood and they're always used in a really unpleasant way lol
