My guy, 3 Reign-Beaux is a must. I honestly don't understand this shift to 2 Grapha and 2 Reign-Beaux I have seen recently. Bunch of contrarians just trying to be different, not understanding how to make the most of the deck, and thus making the deck worse in my opinion. Especially as you are already playing 2 Ceruli. With Dark Corridor you can now activate the secondary effects of all Level 5 or higher Dark World monsters quite easily. Assuming you start with Dark Corridor + Ceruli, Dark Corridor + Reign-Beaux, or a discard outlet + Ceruli + Reign-Beaux you can do the following 1.) Activate Dark Corridor, search Ceruli, discard Ceruli 2.) Ceruli activates, special summons itself to your opponent's field and makes you discard Reign-Beaux 3.) Reign-Beaux activates, searches a level 5+ Dark World monster and then special summons a second Ceruli from your deck or graveyard to your opponent's field in face-up attack position 4.) Second Ceruli activates, making you discard the searched level 5+ Dark World monster 5.) The level 5+ Dark World monster activates, and if it's not grapha, it special summons itself then activates it second effect 6.) Bounce the level 5+ Dark World monster to special summon Reign-Beaux Your most interesting options are Sillva, Goldd, Lucent, and Reign-Beaux, Overlord of Dark World (now referred to as RBL). Let's assume you are going first, then you'll either want to use Sillva or Lucent. If you searched Sillva at step 3 then the result is you have 4 cards left in hand, one being Sillva, with Reign-Beaux on the field with a normal summon available and your opponent has 3 cards in hand with 2 Ceruli on field. This play in and of itself is not necessarily worth it however depending on your other 3 cards in hand you can hand loop once again. The most obvious case being if you have Genta. 7.) Discard Genta, search Gates 8.) Activate Gates 9.) Activate Gates effect to banish Genta, discard Sillva, and draw 1 card 10.) Chain link 2 Genta special summons itself and chain link 1 Sillva special summons itself 11.) Use Reign-Beaux + Genta (or ideally another monster so Genta eventually has a chance to be bounced) to link summon Akashic Magician 12.) Akashic Magician effect to bounce Ceruli 13.) Bounce Sillva for Reign-Beaux 14.) Use Akashic + Reign-Beaux to link summon Muckraker 15.) Muckraker effect to special summon Reign-Beaux (or ideally any other fiend) and discard Ceruli 16.) Ceruli activates, special summons itself to your opponent's field and makes you discard Sillva 17.) Sillva activates, special summoning itself and making your opponent send 2 cards from their hand to the bottom of their deck Now you have 3 cards left in hand with Reign-Beaux, Sillva, Muckraker, and Gates on the field with a normal summon available while being locked into fiend monsters and your opponent has 1 card in hand with 2 Ceruli on field. Generally I would consider this play is worth it but there may be a deck or two where this isn't enough to win depending on what they can do with a 2 card starting hand and how they can use the 2 Ceruli. Obviously this isn't the end of your turn. You still have 3 cards in hand and depending on your starting hand you can avoid the inefficiencies of using Genta as link material, having only Reign-Beaux as a target for Muckraker allowing Reign-Beaux to bounce again, or needing muckraker at all so you aren't locked into fiends. Alternatively, instead of searching Sillva as step 3 you searched Lucent then the result is you have 4 cards left in hand, one being Lucent, with Reign-Beaux on your field and any fiend monster lucent special summoned from the deck on either field with a normal summon available and your opponent has 5 cards in hand with 2 Ceruli on field. This play is all about what you can dig out of the deck with Lucent. You have lots of options, some gimmicks some powerful. Barrier Statue of the Abyss, giving your opponent Ido the Supreme Magical Beast, Fabled Raven, and Infernity Sage. For example, with Infinity Sage if you play 4 Therion cards in the main and 2 dedicated cards in the extra deck then Corridor + Ceruli/Reign-Beaux results in making Coach King and more. Let's assume you are going second, then you'll either want to use Goldd, Lucent, or RBL. The most underwhelming option is if you searched Goldd at step 3 then the result is you have 5 cards left in hand, one being Goldd, with Reign-Beaux on the field with a normal summon available and you destroyed 2 cards your opponent controls while your opponent has your 2 Ceruli. This play in and of itself is most likely not worth it as you gave your oppenent 2 cards to destroy 2 of their cards. If you follow the Sillva example you can use Goldd to pop an additional 2 cards, 4 total, your opponent controls. A far more fun option is if you searched Lucent at step 3 then continue as follows 5.) Lucent activates, special summoning itself then special summoning any fiend from your deck to either field so you special summon any level 8 fiend to your field (say Grapha) 6.) Bounce Lucent to special summon Reign-Beaux 7.) Overlay Grapha + Reign-Beaux into Number 97: Draglubion 8.) Draglubion effect, detaching Grapha/Reign-Beaux, to special summon Number 100: Numeron Dragon with Number 38: Hope Harbinger Dragon as material 9.) Number 100 effect to detach Number 38 to make Number 100's attack 9000 10.) Use Number 100 to attack over the second Ceruli for game The last option is if you searched RBL at step 3 then continue as follows Assuming going second assuming you have Reign-Beaux/Ceruli + Dark Corridor 5.) RBL activates, special summoning itself then either destroy all monsters or all spells/traps your opponent controls. 6.) Bounce RBL to special summon Reign-Beaux The result is that you have effectively turned Corridor + Reign-Beaux/Ceruli into a Lightning Storm that has no activation restrictions. But if we're being honest we wouldn't be playing RBL unless we were also playing Colorless. If you chose to destroy all monsters your opponent controls then you have 2 Ceruli and Reign-Beaux in grave/field as well as RBL and 3 other cards in hand, not counting Accession, to then make Colorless. Resulting in a total board wipe for your opponent and Colorless being at least 4k attack. And it's not like you can only do something like this once. Reign-Beaux can special summon from the deck or graveyard to either field so if you pop the first Ceruli, bounce the second Ceruli, then bounce Reign-Beaux to hand with Grapha, you can discard the second Ceruli to do the whole thing again. Depending on how many ways you have to bounce/recycle Ceruli you could theoretically pull this off more than 4 times in a single turn. TLDR: Play the 3rd copy of Reign-Beaux.

@@cardsandcoffeetcg There is... a lot of obscure high level Dark World stuff. Like playing Number 22: Zombiestein to counter cards like Dark Ruler No More as you can chain accession to Dark Ruler and then chain Number 22 to Accession to target and negate the face-up Dark Ruler. That you can use Worldsea Dragon Zealantis in combination with Muckraker to lock yourself into fiends and then clear your opponent's monsters just like Marinecess does. Also Zealanties will allow you to retake control of any Ceruli's on your opponent's field. Number 23 being a decent way to go into Zeus because it can protect itself as a walking omni-negate while also being able to attack directly. You seemed familiar with the discarding rulings around Danger! monsters but you may not know that you can still activate Danger! monsters effects even under something like a barrier statue because the effect can result in something besides the Danger! monster being special summoned. Which means Danger! monsters aren't useless even when locked into fiends by Muckraker. That the grapha fusion affects the effect of a monster and not the monster itself so you can still use the grapha fusion to change the effect of towers boss monster that is "unaffected by opponent's card effects". The Ceruli/Reign-Beaux interplay I highlighted. That Ceruli makes Thrust and Tactics live. The deck has a lot of depth and options if you look for them... but that unfortunately doesn't help much if your opponent drops Droll or Shifter.

My only reasoning was it’s neither lv4 or 8 and doesn’t search or summon a lv4 or 8 from deck. It’s definitely a good card to include tho! It’s still link fodder at worst ☕️
@PlagueSpreader64 Жыл бұрын
If you value your rank 4s and rank 8s then Tsuchinoko isn't great. I love my rank 8s on my end board and nessie, jackalope, and tsuchinoko can clog my field and prevent me from setting up all my rank 8s. Of the 3 Tsuchinoko is definitely the weakest so I don't personally play it. However, if you're mostly focusing on link monsters and maybe go to the knightmare gryphon end board then Tsuchinoko is alright. TLDR: Whether or not you play tsuchinoko is dependent on your extra deck.

Any synchro below level 9 has to be absolutely broken to even be considered in a dark world deck. Your most replaceable cards are grapha and reign-beaux which you can always bounce something to special summon back. There's a very good reason that any good dark world player doesn't play rank 5/6 xyzs or doesn't use the level 5/6 dark world monsters that special summon themselves for link summons whenever possible. You NEED those copies of say... Sillva to be there so you can keep generating advantage off of bouncing grapha/reign-beaux. Anything that removes your ability to spam Sillva/Goldd/Lucent/Beigge/... by putting them in the graveyard or using them as xyz material is simply inherently bad. Of course, you can play multiple copies of the various dark world monsters that special summon themselves when discard to mitigate the impact of losing one of them to make a synchro monster but that's a weaker dark world engine then the more streamlined package. Anyway, you can make tuners and synchro monsters work but Andwraith, a level 6 monster with the text 1 "Fabled" Tuner + 1+ non-Tuner monsters If this card is Special Summoned: Your opponent can discard 1 card to negate this effect, otherwise you can draw 2 cards, then discard 1 card. If a monster(s) is sent from your opponent's hand to the GY (except during the Damage Step): You can target 1 of those monsters; Special Summon it to your field, but negate its effects. You can only use each effect of "Fabled Andwraith" once per turn. is not anywhere near worth the investment. Here is a 2 card combo line where actually making a synchro play is worth it. Say you start with Reign-beaux and Dark Corridor 1.) Activate Dark Corridor, serch Ceruli, discard Ceruli, Ceruli Special Summons (SS) itself to your opponent's field and makes you discard 2.) Discard Reign-Beaux, Reign-Beaux searches Lucent and then SS a second copy of Ceruli from your deck or graveyard to your opponent's field 3.) Second Ceruli makes you discared 4.) Discard Lucent, Lucent SS self and then SS Infernity Sage from your deck to your field 5.) Bounce Lucent for Reign-Beaux 6.) Infernity Sage makes you discard your whole hand including the Lucent 7.) Lucent SS itself 8.) Lucent + Infernity Sage synchro into Diabolantis the Menacing Mantis (Or synchro into a level 10 like Baronne with Sage + Reign-Beaux and then bounce Lucent for Reign-Beaux though you'll end the combo early) 9.) Mantis sends Therion "Lily" Borea to the graveyard 10.) Use Mantis + Reign-Beaux to Xyz into Gigantic "Champion" Sargas (or if going second Springans Ship - Exblower to pop 2 cards and free the Reign-Beaux and then overlay Ship with Sargas) 11.) Sargas searches Therion "King" Regulus 12.) Regulus SS itself and equips Borea 13.) Regulus empowered by Borea sends the equiped Borea to the graveyard to search Theorion Discolosseum 14.) Play Theorion Discolosseum and search Therion "Empress" Alasia 15.) Alasia SS itself and equips Borea 16.) Alasia discards a card as cost (preferably a Danger! which will trigger their effect) and SS Borea 17.) Use Borea, Regulus, and Alasia to make Coach King Gianttrainer (or possibly a different level 8 instead of Regulus or you might even be able to OTK here if going second) 18.) Use Coach King to draw 3 cards 19.) When Coach King is used you can then use Sargas to bounce a Ceruli on your opponent's field to your hand However, those 4 therion cards in the main deck can definitely be bricks. Not to say you can't mix Fabled and Dark World cards. You definitely can but don't expect it to be meta or anything. Having synchros in your Dark World extra deck is definitely a more "casual" or "for fun" move. Nothing wrong with that though.
@washcloth3000 Жыл бұрын
Just for clarification, Trade in's Discard function is a cost not an effect right? I remember playing dark worlds at my locals when they first came out and there was a difference between a card's effect (Coming after the comma) and the cost (Coming before the comma). Unless something has changed or we have been playing it wrong.

So I have been playing DW since it first came out. I recently purchased 3 copies of the deck and threw something together and I noticed something worth pointing out. I get glued cards far more often than I ever have, even after a heavy shuffle. I have come to the conclusion that it has to be something in the way I combo out with the new cards. The best way I have found to mitigate this is weaving, which is frowned upon and often considered cheating. I'm not as good at math as I use to be, but I am experimenting with different forms of table shuffling that follow the rules and stay true to randomized shuffling. But I do have a feeling if I do come up with a solid shuffle strat, it will be banned. So whatever I do come up has to work the same in any other deck as a normal shuffle. I cant stress just how often cards commonly used with multiple copies on board at the same time end up being together after even a 5 pile table shuffle followed by a solid static shuffle. These almost always result in bricked draws as a majority of your hand ends up being dupes. But worse off, it leads to your draws being somewhat predictable allowing you to play around the randomness and making it seem like the deck was stacked. Anyone else notice this? Also, for reference my sleeves have textured backs, so its not moisture causing this
@PlagueSpreader64 Жыл бұрын
I'm not really sure what you're worried about? Shuffle as unusually as you like. You literally offer your deck to your opponent to cut however the heck they want before you draw your opening hand. Now if you could cheat while shuffling in a convincing way while also reading your opponent's mind to predict their cut then you deserve to win honestly.
@uncleweirdbeard86 Жыл бұрын
@@PlagueSpreader64 Yes, but their are rules to what constitutes a legal shuffle and card sharks exist. Had 1 call a judge one time because I didn't shuffle between activating 2 cards in a row that let me search my deck. Then he stalked for time because he knew he couldn't win. The kicker was it was locals and the prize was 5 packs and a mat. I lost to time, but you'd swear that kid won the super bowl. I got my revenge the next time he tried to shark me though. Tried a judge call on me for not announcing phases. Every turn was "X phase. Do you have a response?" and the judge let it happen. Judges hate sharks too ig xD. But anyways, this is why I make sure to shuffle in a manner that is legal according to the rules. They do allow some flexibility at least, but sharks gotta shark

You guys acting like darkworld players actually think about there combo lines when in reality theres alot of rng, not like rng as in everything is random but more structured one card leads to another most of the time kind of thing but kind of randomly. You have no idea what your top deck is every time you draw so your line changes everytime once it reaches a certain point. Like maybe once youve used your first genta and snow and your getting discards off of your danger cards your sort of in auto pilot at that point.

Bigfoot is just the better card and is a fantastic answer to all kinds of flood gates. You can still user Danger! monsters under something like a barrier statue and you can just keep doing it until you discard grapha or the bigfoot to pop the barrier statue. Not to mention grapha + bigfoot allowing you to answer anti-spell or all kinds of other nonsense. Danger! monsters also trigger simply when discarded so even if banished bigfoot will still trigger in the banished pile allowing outs to arise-heart and macro cosmos. I mean, bigfoot even triggers when discarded by cost. Just imagine clearing arise-heart pass by discarding bigfoot as cost for trade-in. You just pop the arise-heart and still have a six card hand. That being said, bigfoot is fantastic going second and if you know you're going second 3 copies is fine. But if you're going first bigfoot is kinda bad and you really don't want to -1 when bigfoot hits itself so then 2 bigfoot and 1 thunderbird is reasonable just to have more Danger! names.

Once super heavy samurai and what not made droll popular Dark World fell off nearly entirely. Danger! Dark World is incredibly strong as it can set up end boards, break boards, and otk with the best decks of the format if not better. There's just the wee little problem of being very vulnerable to hard counters. So, if for some reason Droll and Shifter got banned on the next ban list Danger! Dark World easily becomes a top 10 if not top 5 deck over night. Just never count the deck out because it can absolutely steal wins.
