Just because he's not good at expressing his pain and love in words, many people take him so lightly. Among all the characters, Jiang Cheng had to bear most of the pain from losing while no one was there to console and comfort him. He is the character that I can relate the most in the drama.

Wow this is probably my favourite CQL MV I've seen, I never realized how well this song fits for Jiang Cheng. That line "If there's a reason I'm still alive when everyone who loved me has died" explains EXACTLY the feeling I get when I think about him. Like, he really just lost everything and had no idea what to do while Wei Wuxian seemed to always come out on top. I relate to that in some ways and it's the reason he's one of my favourite characters.

Wow this is beautiful. This song perfectly tells the story of JC. He lost absolutely everyone and everything in his life except his nephew who he raised from when he was only about 18. Can you imagine going through all that pain and suffering and then having to conceal it for all them years so he can look after his nephew? He suffers so much and I feel so sorry for his character. Truly he deserves the world

Yeah....I will probably watch this video approximately 100 times in a row and then break down to cry about how good of a character Jiang Cheng is. Most people just think he's a salty lotus, but the way the author and the writer for the adaptation understood the complexity of that one child in the shadow of another, oh my Lord, I'm emotional. The first time I watched this I was honest-to-god stunned. "Wait For It" really is a perfect fit for Jiang Cheng and his complicated relationship with Wei Wuxian! The editing is near flawless in execution and - even more importantly - such an emotional soul-punch. Powerful scene choices complimenting and elevating the lyrics in a way I've rarely seen done this well in any fandom. There are so many great moments in this. Your love for the fandom and character is evident in every detail. If I had to pick a favourite: The sword/flute toss at "Then, goddammit, I'm willing to wait for it!" brings me close to tears EVERY SINGLE TIME! It captures their dynamic in its heartbreaking, yet still-hopeful poignancy. Thank you for creating and sharing this!

Omg, I’m literally crying my eyes out. Such a well made and well fitting video. Poor JC. I really feel for him. At least WWX has LWJ. His sister even is reunited with her husband. His parents are also finally together at peace. But he is all alone. 😢 And he is just as fiercely loyal and protective of Wuxian as Wuxian is of him. Except, like always, his love and sacrifice gets overshadowed by his brother... I really wish their relationship had a little more closure. But I guess that’s life...
