I meaaan. You’re using the disarming voice primarily for dark and normal types that resist shadow ball correct? Hard to believe STAB blast burn wouldn’t do the same neutral damage, if not more.

Or maybe it'll be one of the other starters to get 2 moves..either way BB won't hurt its coverage it's STAB and one of the most shielded moves in the game!

Skeledirge is an absolute menace in every league. The only way to guarantee (guarantee being the key word here) you win against a team with Skeledirge is to bring 3 counters to it.

@@LazyNinjass and XL Candy only came out 3 years ago? With the mega rework maybe 1-2 years go? I have 6-7 ML Pokémon built up and only melmetal is my only legendary/mythical. The rest are your common dragonite etc. I agree that if someone plays regularly you can build 2-3 Pokémon for ML. However let’s not kid ourselves that out of the 3 leagues if you start as a new account building 3 solid mons; ML would be the one that takes the longest. You need perfect or near perfect IVs, 296 XL Candy and depending on if lucky or not anywhere from 1.5-2 million dust to build 3 solid Pokémon.

However one starter mon in particular that im excited to see debut in Pogo, that is not yet in Pogo is Rillaboom. If you take a look at what its stats are supposed to be, it not only has stanima and defense that is similar to Swampert/Skeledirge, but it also has an attack stat that is similar to base Blaziken at the same time! Thus because of that it has a max CP of around 3800 something at lvl 50, and would thus be the highest CP Starter mon, outside of Mega Evolutions, even surpassing Primerina. It is also the grass type starter with the highest base attack not counting Megas, its attack is 239, while having about a 170ish defense if i remember correctly and a 225 staninma just like Swampert. To put things into perspective Mega Venusar has a base attack of 241 and the mythical Pokemon Zarude has a base attack of 242. Additionally the standard moves it comes with before even including thr eventual legacy Frenzy plant, its stamdard best grass set b4 FP is Razor leaf and Grass Knot and even when running that mediocre set, it still does better in DPS ans TDO than Chesnaught running Vine Whip and legacy Frenzy plant. So imagine when it does get legacy FP and then a shadow variant to top it off!? My guess is that a Shadow Rillaboom with legacy frenzy plant would be one of the most powerful grass type pokemon and likely even surpassing Kartana as a grass type attacker, atleast base Kartana, likely not shadow Kartana but thats something we domt have yet either. Thou it would have higher dps than shadow Rilla for sure but likely not TDO and they may possibly be matched overall when looking at their ER values but possibly. But it definitely will be superior over non shadow Kartana in both DPS and TDO, and to even do better than a non shadow kartana is still nothing to laugh at, as that is currently that hardest hitting non mega grass type in the game as of now, for its shadow has yet to exist either. This is a starter that, when it gets legacy fp, and a shadow variant, that it has power potential to supercede megas. Definitely better than Meg Venusar and as for Mega Sceptile, im not sure, but i think its a good possibility that shadow rillaboom woth FP would surpass Mega Sceptile as a grass attacker, or if not quite it would either be matched or very close in performance. This is definitely a starter pokemon, with the power capability to be comparible to a shadow Psudo legendary. Rillaboom was also my 1st starter i choose whej i 1st played Pokemon Sword and is my favorite Galar Starter

The problem was when they intrroducted XL candy. Now it's a LOT harder to compete at Master League unless you've got a team of fully XL'd Pokemon. It's just not attainable for a lot of people. I used to enjoy GBL too but I've only got maybe 3 total that are XL maxed.

When Skeledirge eventually gets its community day move, do you think it will likely use it instead of shadow ball or instead of disarming voice? Or do you think trainers will just use incinerate as it's fire move and keep fairy and ghost moves?

Probably a side grade. Might find use on some teams or speciality cups but both Disarming Voice and Shadow Ball are extremely hard to forgo and give Dirge a lot of coverage and shield pressure. Especially with Incinerate damage buff, it doesn’t really NEED a Fire charge move.

Unless we see incinerate or disarming voice nerfs, I think it'll be dependent on what is in the meta of each format Like Dragons are everywhere in Masters, so people might opt to keep disarming voice in masters, but if registeel is out of hand in great league we might see more blast burn sets

NO. Swampert is still Triple king. Skeledirge cannot surprise anything. You know exactly which charge attack is coming and you can time swaps, optimize fast move pressure, and over farm with ease on an incinerate user. Skeledirge has way more typing disadvantages as well. Swampert is a generalist with speed and power. Skeledirge needs type advantage normally and loses most neutral situations only to pull a shield.
