i had a friend who played both tennis and baseball, and when he would hit a grounder it had so much topspin that the movement of the ball would be unpredictable and he would often get a base hit because the infielders couldn’t make a play on it

So I haven't played baseball in probably 10 years. Since I was 14. But I was taught to step out with my lead foot to open up my hips to be able to hit a pitcher that is jamming you inside. Is this just wrong?

Nah stepping out would put you off balance and you would not be able to hit an outside ball. It’s recommended that you step forwards the pitcher. If someone is jamming you it’s either a ball or you have to bring your hands inside and not cast the bat.

I used to drive inside pitches foul. My dad would always get mad when we would go to the cages and take bp because I could never hit an inside pitch fair. Even outside pitches I would only hit to the right center gap at most. Although I haven’t played for a few years now, it would be nice to see a video of how to be less of a pull hitter.
