In Legends, the emperor tried to create another clone army made up of two templates. These clones were to have the intellect of Thrawn while having the combat prowess of one of his best royal guards. It turned out to be a failure but one clone survived and nearly toppled the New Republic.

You missed the most important part of that book. That officer who was chosen to be the alternative to the force sensitive clone project jumps in front of a blast of fire during the coup attempt. He is horrifically injured and Vader recognizes his loyalty, setting him and his direct bloodline up for their lives, as well as making him the template for the new clones that would be filling out the empire as a stop gap and the 501st in perpetuity. This is important because decades later, that man’s grandson becomes Caedus’ right hand man and is a major contributor to Jason believing that he could remain an honorable and noble person while wielding the Dark Side.

As of the Bad Batch season 2, it is seen that Sidious is interested in force sensitive cloning and the ability for the force to be transferred from one host to another with Omega's blood sample.

Why didn't Sidious clone Anakin then. Anakin a formidable Jedi in his youth (highest midichlorian count ever accounting to Obi Wan), seduced by dark side, could have been cloned and it wouldn't matter if obi wan defeated him at Mustafar - just roll another 10,000 off the production line no problemo. The clones wouldn't have the attachment to Padme, and so wouldn't be as ....distracted.

@@andrewmurray1550 Why would he do that? That doesn’t fit with Palpatine’s character at all and makes no sense. He was obsessed with immortality, power. He was trying to clone himself and as we can see thanks to the sequels, he succeeded in cloning himself.

I remember there's an early poster of the Empire Strikes Back where the images of Stormtroopers holding light sabres guns that were sword guns. They could fire them and use them as swords. And some had very different colours from green to black with red likeness. Interestingly, the troopers wore clocks of black or grey as similar to Jedis. I didn't read an account that there were Sith Troopers with red helmets with purple armour or black gold helmets. Ranking them as empire's special task troopers, and possibly a police force. There was also a droid storm trooper or cybernetic troopers, basically Darth Vaders' own guards' likeness to him or cloned versions?

No competent sword or sabre master uses stab hold to use as a block to another swordsman. It will only give way to the force of the strike easily.
