omg the Swedish standart is pretty high then :D
@imane19507 жыл бұрын
Same in Belgium, they don't even work with A, B, C it's in procent. When you get 70% you can count yourself very Lucky. The school system in Europe is way better than in America

Går du i grundskolan??? På gymnasiet är det en helt annan standard och extremt svårt att nå något över C

Honestly, some of the best musicians play music by ear so it's not a huge deal to not be 'good' at music theory.
@theusamrl6 жыл бұрын
Yeah, but you can't rely on your ear your whole life. Most mainstream musicians can't even read music, they just don't even know the notes their playing or singing, which is terrible in my opinion. It's never too late to educate yourself.

Swedish C ≠ American C. C and above is regarded as the "high" grades, generally.

I didn't do well in music theory in high school, but I kicked ass at college auditions and recently graduated with my BA in classical bass performance.

In Sweden we have from A-F and A is best F is bad! And E and G and D is like okay, but C and B is really good
@lastdays85007 жыл бұрын
I got a C too.. theory is pretty hard for me. I'm not good at maths and maths apparently helps with music theory. I didn't even get singing lessons or help choosing songs but the problem was just music theory haha 😂

I think English C is E in Sweden, might be wrong though

"C or C− being the lowest grade for course credit" en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grading_systems_by_country#Standards-based_grading In Sweden that is an E?
@tommyaten7 жыл бұрын
Yeah in Sweden? Cause in the US I'm pretty sure C or D is the lowest passing grade

i mean idk what kind of stuf they go through in their music classes but ive had to learn all about peer gunt and motzart and everything as well as basic music theory. so just bc she can sing, doesnt mean she gets an A in music lol

What means a C in america? I live in the Netherlands and our school system is in numbers from 0 to 10!

@DreamsOfSappho7 жыл бұрын
Zainab Ahmadi in Sweden a C is a very good grade! An A is almost impossible to get because of the high level. We had only 3 grades a few years back, G,VG and MVG. MVG being the highest. C-A grades are all in the MVG level :)
@Sasha-qf8eu7 жыл бұрын
A isn't that hard. I have 8 of them
@TheRealHiHats7 жыл бұрын
E = G, C = VG, A = MVG. Getting A's is not "almost impossible". Just show up, be attentive, do all of your assigned work, be somewhat intelligent and be liked by the teachers = straight A's.
@DreamsOfSappho7 жыл бұрын
Yes you are correct that C=VG and A=MVG but that is about points. Both A and MVG is worth 20p. The level of knowledge though is much higher at the A level! because the new grade system raised the overal level in swedish schools. If you have one bad day, and get a C on one of the knowledge demands that teachers have to follow you can never get an A in that course if that demand isn't testet again, due to the fact that you have to have straight As during the semester to recieve A as a grade. Now, there have been quite a few years since I went to gymnasiet and my class was the first to use the new F-A grading system. The teachers were very strict with handling out higher grades since no one knew how to use the new system. Maybe it is easier today, but since I'm studying to become a teacher at the university, I should be correctly informed. Otherwise something might be wrong with the comunication between government and teachers. I realise that A isn't impossible to get since I got mostly As myself, but most others didn't, and the teachers even said to us that according to the new demsnds of having to be perfect all semester that grade was only for the most hard working students. The new system was actually created to set students apart since MVG was such a large scale in knowledge, around C-A.
