Waiting On a Miracle | Camilo version | Encanto ANIMATIC

Hey hi howdy! I know its been quite a while since my last video, but I'm hoping to become more active here! For now, enjoy this Encanto animatic! This is for my AU where Camilo is the one who doesn't receive a gift, I'm sure I'm not the only one who's come up with this, but I like it ^v^
I do not own the music! All rights go to Disney, I only own the drawings.

Instead of a "powerless Camilo AU", I love to interpret this as Camilo still having his powers, but considering it worthless compared to all of the others. Or even better, comparing himself and his powers to those of the people he turns in, so basically having an identity and worth complex "Someone please just let me know where do I go" "Who I am inside" "Shine like all of you do", and letting everything out through this song

I would’ve very much liked Bruno to sing a version of the ending part of waiting on a miracle where he’s questioning why mirabel didn’t get a gift. Like, She is ready, cmon she’s ready! She’s been patient and steadfast and steady! Bless her now as you’ve blessed them all those years ago, when you gave us a miracle! Does she not deserve, a miracle?

I can’t help but think that if Camilo had been the one to not get his gift, Bruno would’ve still left, so Camilo might’ve grown up thinking that only the women in the family receive gifts, only to get hit with a proverbial slap in the face on Antonio’s night.

Bc I could imagine this in the og But think about it, Abuela wants their gifts to be useful, but what good can camilos gift do? It's possible that he might feel under apriciated as he is, not quite as much as Mirabel of course, but we never really see abuela interact with him. And aside from Antonio, who's too young, and Julieta every other magical madrigal is under some kind of emotional stress. Just bc we don't see it, that doesn't mean camilo is an acception. This song could be about people seeing camilo as more than a jokester with an amusing party trick. And/or his quest to find himself.

Idea: Instead of an AU where Camilo doesnt get the gift how about everything happened normally but Camilo's powers were weak and faded causing him to be just like Mirabel except now everyone treats Mirabel nicely because they know if anything happens to the family Mirabels gift can save it- while Camilo is ignored and eventually becomes forgotten due to lack of power and the family not learning their lesson instead of Bruno being the side character to help Camilo Antonio is

Yess! This is literally the best thing I have seen all day. Camilo is my favorite character in Encanto and to hear his own version of the song is just amazing! Ah, finally someone created a Camilo version for this; I've always wanted one! Don't get me wrong, I loved Mirabel's part in this but there was part of me who thought this would've suited Camilo much more better considering how Camilo is actually looking for who he really is and well although this isn't canon, I personally like to think he has identity crisis due to the fact that he can basically transform into anyone, leaving him helpeless on how he should be. Your artstyle is really pretty, I loved the emotions! Thank you for blessing us with this masterpiece!

I would have loved it if Camilo was our powerless protagonist and Mirabel had shape shifting. Mainly cause it would have been nice to have a male protagonist that isn't just a macho man. Well and teaches that being vulnerable and gentle doesn't make anyone less of a man. However I still love Encanto and find Mirabel to be the most relatable Disney protagonist we have ever had.

I like this concept since I think Camilo is only six weeks older than Mirabel. So after his ceremony didn't work abuela would've been really stressed for mirabel. Then when mirabel got her gift, abuela would've focused on her instead of comforting Camilo. I don't think he'd resent Mirabel or anything, but I think he'd still have his showman or comedian personality trying to cheer others up while still showing them he can be useful.
