I have a IIIf that I usually shoot with the Elmar 50mm f3.5 lens. It’s a neat little camera. My Canon P - which uses the same lenses! - is a bit nicer to use, but the Leica has a more substantial feel to it. I’m always in a bit of a quandary of which to grab! The lens selection is amazing and, relatively speaking, quite affordable. 😁

I like the Canons too, but the Leica has that special something. And it is so affordable.

Even the Leica-branded D-LUX 6 is a great little camera, with its Vario Summilux lens.

My first Leica - I love saying that! - my first Leica was a IIIa, I still have it and its Summar lens. In the right conditions it can still do wonderful things and the camera works amazingly smoothly despite its great age.

I come across quite a few threads and videos where people mention how they can't stand the knob rewind, or the knob film advance. Even on the M3. I love the knob rewind on my M3. I love the knob advance on the iiif I had a while back. I also really love the film loading system of the barnacks and the M3. It feels correct to me. Haha I don't really know if that makes sense...but loading film into a non speed loading M3 feels like "yes! I am loading film into my camera, and then...I get to shoot it!" Hahaha. Anyways. I really appreciate your videos and your enthusiasm. Thank you.
