Been an admirer since the 1960's. Attended her concert in the Mysore Dasara Exhibition in the 60's. What's amazing is she continues to spread the same joy even after several decades. Her energy is simply unbelievable.

I used to go to Calcutta during my summer school holidays and heard Usha sing "Jambalaya" and "Fever" at Trincas back in the day. I remember feeling so surprised to see this traditional south Indian lady belt out those fabulous songs - because when I first saw her just before she started to sing I had no idea what to expect. She was fabulous and it was so thrilling to hear her singing live. She was fantastic! Another favourite song I enjoyed listening to weas "Sonny" - So enjoyable. You have come a long way Girl! And it's no wonder!

Absolutely fantastic Barkha. I had a pre conceived thing about you, that you were a political hard nosed news reader, and although Usha is always fantastic…. You are a great person yourself. Love you both.

Barkha, Thanks a lot for this interview. Usha Ji is unique and no one can copy or substitute her. May I suggest you something. Why don’t you do such shows in different locations in front of invited audience and of course it should be ticketed, and followed by a dinner. I think it’s a great idea. Please think about it.

I truely admire her but i do came to realize that she is a true leftist and pseudo secular. Why does she gets so excited about her bindi maker marrying an Imran? Times have changed, this is no longer her time she was born into as the intentions of peace loving community are not or were never that peace loving. Also, she cheated on her husband and has no guilt. Shame.

Every person on this earth has one life to live. And if you can find happiness then you deserve it. Who are we to criticise happiness it has nothing to do with politics, religion and so on. If only this was possible for everyone.

Everyone who were in that era within the Hindi film industry know how the mangeshkar sisters manipulated the producers directors and music directors and were responsible for ruining and destroying so many many upcoming singers not only from India but also abroad , anyway what goes around comes around as per Providential justice as they have paid very dear a price
