@@mindboard8203 or a socialist. His line about them getting you to slav away for little crumbs we call the wage harkens back to the term "wage slave", which has origins in leftist/socialist movements in the mid to late 1800s. The idea of "wage slavery" being rather than self sufficient you are forced to get a small wage as you sell your body, but the wage is so small you are essentially just stuck because you have no way out of it in the financial sense because you need capital to start a business, and as capitalism was becoming more grounded there was much resistance to the wage. Our system was not solidly capitalist originally, it was in a very infantile state and the wage didn't fully become the norm until the industrial revolution and so people were very against it even in it's earliest implementations. Most people tilled their own soil and worked for themselves, but capitalists began getting larger up to the 1850s and resistance grew much more. Even in the US, abraham lincoln actually used a slogan in his run for president that was a call to fight against the wage system and to emphasize that labor is the superior to capitol, he even corresponded with Karl marx through letters. It's a very intense thing when you realize how much we are all getting screwed and that this current economic model is more recent than people realize.

I had a friend once who told me that the worst mistake you could make is to think that you are alive when really you are asleep in life's waiting room/ The trick...is...to combine your waking rational abilities with the infinite possibilities of your dreams....because if you can do that you can do anything. Did you ever have a job that you hated...worked really hard at...long hard day at work finally you get to go home, get in bed, close your eyes...and immediately you wake up and realize that the whole day at work had been a dream...it's bad enough that you sell your waking life for..for minimum wage but now they get your dreams for free.

Best part aside from the philosophy and dream talk, that near the end of the scene, he goes to test a light switch, and no matter which way he flips it, it said “ON” on both sides. Trippy and a nice nod to lucid dreaming.

I have always loved this movie and on my travels found myself quoting it more often than not. And while I was watching this I realized that not too long ago, my light stand wasn't working. I switched out the bulbs, tried a different outlet, nothing worked. I eventually had to use a different lamp on the same outlet. Then I moved into my new place and now it works. I don't know if I was dreaming or not, but after revisiting this scene I'm beginning to think I was. - Super prefundo to you on the early eve of your day.

I have turned a light switch on and off in a lucid dream. Just saying it's not impossible like it says here. But that was after I was lucid, and since pretty much anything is possible when your lucid if you have the capacity to wrap your mind around it then why should it be impossible to affect the light. It isn't. Also something that is super funny and almost always silly and odd is asking dream characters questions. Who are you? Where am I? Is this a dream? What's your name? Always really strange answers, sometimes the sentences don't even make sense. And from what I've found, they'll never say you are in a dream.

im glad someone else has noticed the reaction from dream characters when questioned hehe.. sometimes i swear they give me a little smirk when i tell them things like "this is all a dream" ....it is strange to me because in my experience there seems to be a input/output function regarding ones surroundings while lucid dreaming.. for instance, once i dreamed i was in a car, i became lucid and noticed some leaves blowing in the street..i simply imagined or had the thought that they were not leaves but birds and almost instantaneously the leaves morphed into birds and flew away.. what i find strange about the dream characters, is they seem to do things that i didn't expect making me wonder how much of MY dream it really is. thanks for sharing, i can tell youve really done it.

This movie ought to have been titled "3 Bong Hits;" that's because it sounds a lot like me and my friends back in the day after we'd had three bong hits...just going on long, winding, convoluted raps on the subject of....whatever. As they carried on, stuff that seemed profound or "deep" (but a lot of stuff does when you're stoned) and then someone would say *"Wait...what the HELL have we been talking about?"* When that happened: **WHOOOOSH!!** the whole confab and everything in it vanishes. I think a more clever person than I could use that as a metaphor for something...

+IT'S TIME TO STOP this movie plays on a couple of the fundamental philosophical assumptions that we have to make, before we can build modern philosophy on top of it. we must assume that we exist and that the universe exists. existence cannot be proven, in it of itself. it has no precursors, if you will. time to go to crazy town. this movie is based on the, equally unprovable, assumption that the universe does not exist, and it makes a very entertaining case for it. not saying i totally believe in it, but its definitely fun to speculate, as this movie does. :)

Lucid dreams does affect our life to the point where we doubt whether we're in a real world or in a dream!, it occurs especially when 'False Awakening' is experienced in a dream. If a person experiences it in every lucid dream before waking up, it'll turn him to a maniac. But it's hard to reach a level where we can't find difference between real world and a dream. our senses are the true obstacles to completely believe reality is a dream.
