Successful people don't read what successful people do to be successful. ;) They just do what helps them to be more effective and waking up at 5am might not be the universal advice. Do what's right for your body and mind.

I love going to bed early and waking up at 4:30 or 5am because it takes all the anxiety out of getting up and having to rush to work/school. I used to get terrible insomnia because I would dread and worry about that feeling about having to wake up and hit the ground running.
@crocolagerfelden61425 жыл бұрын
Why do you do that? To become successful or to feel better physically and emotionally? Ask yourself that. Because if you want to be as successful as Bill Gates then go find a passion and work your ass off or come up with a brilliant idea that caters to the needs of other people and also work your ass off, don't try to emulate his bathroom schedule. If you want a "routine" that will work for you, you should find a custom-made solution that will cater to your specific needs and make you healthier and happier.

Great video! Loving your honesty. A few tips (I've done this myself as well): 1. a sleep cycle lasts for 1.5 hours and then you are in your 'light sleep' again. Therefore, it's easier if you sleep for 6/7.5/9 hours, because then you feel way less tired. 2. Your body wakes up by itself the moment that you normally wake up (so 5 am if you've been doing this for a few days). The hours that you sleep after that, your body doesn't register. If you get less sleep than normally, taking a nap of 25 mins (equals the feeling of 1hr of night sleep) or 1.5 hr (equals the feeling of a few hours). Hopefully you get something out of this. This is a combination of stuff that I read and personal experience. X!

I broke with my bf 6 months ago and I’ve truly been so much happier and content. After I broke up with him and I decided to change. I started a routine of working out 5 days a week and now I love it. My body and mind feels better since doing this and now I’m 6 months into working out consistently. Break ups are not bad, it gives time to know yourself. 😀

Cornelia, that´s amazing! I´ve been actually waking up at 5 am during last summer and loved it. Did Yoga in the garden while the sun was rising. It is such a special time of the day. However, when November came and it started to get darker earlier in the evening and brighter later in the morning I didn´t continue. When I got up at 5 am in Novemer it would be pitch black outside until 8 am and I somehow coulnd´t handle that. BUT - I´m very determined to start waking up at 5 am again. Actually been thinking about this since a few days now and want to start tomorrow. Love that you shared your experience with it. Keep us updated on how it goes. We can support each other to thrive :) xx Constanze from Munich, Germany

I wake up at 4am, have a coffee and pack all my things for work, and by the time I'm done work everyone else is still working and life is so much slower, I don't get stuck in rush hour traffic I don't have to rush home and make dinner.. it's just great.

@stevecalvert68695 жыл бұрын
I know what you mean June Bergman, I've had many different cycles of waking and sleeping and some do work better for me. These days, I see a lot people talking about the benefits of waking up at 5 am. It's a new fad, but it may work for some people. We are all different though. Personally, when I had to wake up at 5 am and go to work in a warehouse or driving a wagon, it offered no benefits. My days were always long and hard. Now, I work to my routine because I'm self-employed. It doesn't matter when I work. All that matter is that I get the job done. A few months ago, I fell into the habit of going to bed on an evening, waking at 2am, and then starting my day. At that time I felt extremely productive. I got my work done and then went for a walk in the afternoon. Will getting up at 5 am make you more productive? It might, but it depends on your circumstances and the kind of person you are. No one rule works for all. Personally, I have no set routine at all and am still exploring the possibilities.

Hi Cornelia, I’ve been following you for a while. You are a very likable, kind and sweet person. I admire your aesthetic taste and your creative expression. However, there’s something I must say. I have nothing personal against you, but this fanatic and dogmatic way of life (law of attraction, the secret and positive thinking) is something I just don’t buy. There’s nothing wrong with being optimistic, and nothing wrong with being pessimistic either. Indeed, having way too high expectations of success and wealth can be frustrating and lead people to depression eventually. The Secret, law of attraction and similar new age pseudoscientific thinking systems are nothing but the extrapolation of savage individualism to all areas of life (love, work, economy, family, and so on). I will explain this idea: "everything that happens to you is caused by your thoughts". This can be easily dismantled when we contextualize, as it’s not the same to be born in a developed country, with a well-functioning health system and accessible high quality education, than being born in an undeveloped country where every day is a struggle. According to law of attraction, a poor person in a poor society is the only responsible of his/her misery. This person should be thinking positively, writing lists every day about their dreamlife, spending money they don’t have as if they had it. And one day they will attract success. Oh, and if they don’t attract it it’s only because they’ve done something wrong. They are thinking too obsessively, or too few, or just not the right way. This ambiguity and impossible to prove cause-effect (with no scientific guarantee whatsoever) make law of attraction not a law, but a faith. And no, we are not responsible of everything that happens to us. How incredibly egocentric would that be. It makes me sad that people’s dreams gravitate towards this American dream, cheap literature, superficial and materialistic lifestyle. It’s OK to be critical, instead of naively believe in this self-proclaimed law; according to which, natural disasters, wars and genocides are also the result of the negative thoughts and frequencies of their victims. Sapere aude (Kant) .

If you feel like you can't breath in your head I recommend you to try meditating with mantra. especially with gouranga nitay gour mantra ( check this out on youtube). Why meditating with mantra od better then silence meditation is because we always hear sounds everywhere, we crave the sounds of music. So when you sit and do nothing its hard to focus your mind but if you gonna saying mantras while meditating its easier to focus on a sound that you are making and speaking this so you are not gonna focus on your thougths that easly. I can confirm it is working. (English od mu second language but I hope i understandable)

I think you are right about your boyfriend and I apologize if I previously said something harsh about him! He is still young and energetic and with all of the beautiful young girls around, it would be almost impossible for him to commit and be responsible! He won't be able to do that before he is around 40, but unfortunately, then you will be older than many other girls who would gladly accept to marry him! This is not my scenario by the way, it's a famous American female socialist who wrote that in a book! She advised young girls to get married and postpone college and career until after having families and kids, or else they would end up old and alone! I'm sorry that I don't remember her name or the book's.

I have suggested this before, but I think going to university for whichever degree would really benefit you Cornelia with regards to several aspects of your life. It is not that a certain kind of mindset is imposed on you through uni (I think you might be afraid of that), but rather that you are empowered and have the tools to reflect on the world differently.
